Results of the Republic of Kazakhstan Championship in Race Walking, Marathon, and Half Marathon
Results of the Republic of Kazakhstan Championship in Race Walking, Marathon, and Half Marathon On July 4 and 5, 2015, Ust-Kamenogorsk hosted the Republic of Kazakhstan Championship in race walking, marathon, and half marathon for the first time. On the first day, medals were contested in race walking for 3, 5, 10, and 20 km for women, and 5, 10, 20, and 50 km for men. On the second day, the marathon and half marathon took place. Representatives from six regions participated in the championship: South Kazakhstan region, West Kazakhstan region, Pavlodar region, Almaty region and the city of Almaty, and East Kazakhstan region. According to the results of the championship, the team from the city of Almaty took first place in the overall team standings with a result of 6,355 points, having 8 medals in its tally: 4 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze. In second place was the EKR team with 6,201 points and 7 medals: 5 gold and 2 silver. Third place went to the SKR national team with 2,552 points and 4 medals: 1 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze. Elina Mikhina finishes sixth at the Asian Grand Prix
Elina Mikhina from Ridder has recently accustomed us to consistently placing among the medalists of major competitions. Over the last month, she has earned two bronze medals, one of which was won at the Asian Championships and the second at the Spartakiad of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Unfortunately, her successful streak of performances was interrupted in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. In the 400 m distance, Mikhina made it into the finalists, but this time she failed to step onto the podium. As a result, she finished sixth with a time of 54.81 seconds. A sort of “sweetener” to this “pill” was the victory in the same final by another representative of Kazakhstan, Yulia Rakhmanova, who turned out to be more than a second faster than Mikhina. In total, on the first competition day, Kazakhstani athletes secured victories by Rakhmanova, Victoria Zyabkina in the 100 m sprint, Anastasia Pilipenko in the 100 m hurdles (13.25 s), and a “bronze” by Irina Ektova in the triple jump (13.59 m). From June 14 to 16, the 4th Spartakiad of the Republic of Kazakhstan in athletics is being held in Almaty. Based on the results of the first two days, our national team of the East Kazakhstan Region holds the 2nd place. On the very first day, our girls took 3 gold medals in the long jump, shot put, and pole vault. On the second day of the competition, 5 more gold medals were added to the tally of the EKR national team. The 19th People’s Sports Games have concluded
Ust-Kamenogorsk and the Tarbagatay district managed to defend their titles. By the way, these teams can boldly be called “dynasties,” as they have not yielded the lead to anyone for many consecutive years! The awards were presented to the winners and medalists by the Deputy Akim of the East Kazakhstan Region, Zhaksylyk Omar, who thanked all participating teams for coming to Ust-Kamenogorsk and demonstrating fair, uncompromising competition over the past four days. The top three in the city standings were Zyryanovsk, Semey, and Ust-Kamenogorsk, taking third through first place respectively. Among the rural teams, the strongest were the Borodulikha district (3rd place), Ulan district (2nd place), and Tarbagatay district. Ridder has a “bronze” from the Asian Athletics Championships!
The final heat of the 4×400 meter relay teams started on the final competition day. Joining Mikhina on the Kazakhstan national team, which ran in the fifth lane, were Yulia Rakhmanova, Alexandra Romanova, and Anastasia Kudinova. Mikhina ran the opening leg and set a good pace for the entire team, which managed to finish the race with the third-best result, trailing only the teams from China and India. The only gold medal for the national team was brought by Victoria Zyabkina, who won the 200m sprint with an outstanding result of 23.09 seconds. This time allowed Victoria to also secure an Olympic quota, which will be the third for the country. Nurbota Bogenbayeva and Diana Rogachyova – Champions of Kazakhstan
The most “productive” discipline for our young athletes was hurdling. In this event, we won two gold, one silver, and one bronze medal. In the girls’ 60 m hurdles, Nurbota Bogenbayeva claimed victory. Notably, she showed a weaker result in the final than in the heats, yet it was still enough to win — such is her margin in speed and technique. Diana Rogachyova won the 300 m hurdles, outperforming, among others, Bogenbayeva, who finished third in this distance. The only medal for the boys in hurdling was won by Ramiz Kartaev, who finished third in the 60 m event. In other disciplines, the “productivity” still leaves much to be desired. In the flat 300 m race, Dmitry Panin managed to win a bronze medal in competition with nearly sixty opponents. Regina Mitrofanova was just a little unlucky, finishing fourth in the 1000 m race and уступing her podium place to Kamila Kosbaulina. The advantage of the capital’s athlete over our representative was only 0.16 seconds. Meanwhile, pole vaulter Arman Kenesbek and hammer thrower Darya Demchenko were almost “destined” to reach the podium, as they had only one and two competitors respectively. Kazakhstan Championship in Athletics among older boys and girls born in 1998–1999
The East Kazakhstan Region (EKR) team took 3rd place overall, behind the teams from Karaganda and South Kazakhstan Region. Personal records were set at the competition:Arthur Gafner threw the javelin 61.18 m and became the Kazakhstan Champion in shot put with a result of 13.61–3 m. Sayat Asylkhanov threw the hammer 49.50 m – 2nd place,Erika Kem put the shot 13.38 m – 2nd place, 100 m hurdles – 15.37 sec – 3rd place. Moldir Seitkhanova won the 1500 m and 3000 m races, becoming the Kazakhstan Champion. Olya Rubakhina won the bronze medal in the 1500 m.Ariana Saifullina: 400 m – 1:00.4 sec – 4th place, 800 m – 2:22.3 sec – 4th place. Zhandos Kumarbekov set a personal record in the 400 m – 52.64 sec – 6th place, and in the 800 m – 2:01 sec – 5th place. Timur Zholdataev ran 400 m hurdles in 1:02.2 sec – 4th place. Egor Ermolov jumped 180 cm in the high jump. Elena Larionova achieved the second adult rank in the heptathlon.

В ДКМ прошла встреча главы ВКО со спортивной общественностью региона A meeting of the East Kazakhstan Region (EKR) head with the regional sports community was held at the DKM. Honored guests of the ceremony included Sergey Nemchinov, the silver medalist in hockey at the Nagano-1998 Olympics, and Anatoly Kulnazarov, Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan. Danial Akhmetov spoke about upcoming innovations in the region’s sports life. In particular, a specialized school for weightlifting will be organized in Ust-Kamenogorsk. According to the regional head, this school will become an excellent reserve for the National Team. In the near future, emphasis will be placed on developing six sports: hockey, athletics, martial arts, winter sports, water sports, and one team sport, which has not yet been determined. Scholarships from the EKR akim were awarded to 38 athletes – medalists and winners of international competitions: Olga Rypakova, wrestling Asian champion Rasul Kaliev, freestyle skiers Pavel Kolmakov, Dmitry Reicherd, and Yulia Galysheva, skiers Alexey Poltoranin, Anna Stoyan, Viktoria Lanchakova, Alexander Malyshev, Anastasia Slonova, world sambo champion Zere Bektaskyzy, biathletes Vasily Podkorytov and Galina Vishnevskaya, Alexander Kulikov – Kazakhstan champion in canoe slalom, Polina Mikhailova – bronze medalist of the Asian Games in handball, and judokas Dastan Ykybaev and Yerkebulan Kosaev, wrestling Asian champion Rasul Kaliev. Scholarships range from 150,000 tenge to 1 million tenge depending on sports achievements. Exhibition of Achievements of Sports Institutions at the HCM
On May 19, 2015, during a meeting of the East Kazakhstan Region (EKR) akim Danial Akhmetov with the regional sports community, the achievements of sports schools were presented, including the EKR State Specialized Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve in Athletics. The personal record of Olympic champion Olga Rypakova was prominently displayed right at the entrance.
