Askar Omirzak wins bronze medal in decathlon at Asian U20 Championships

Representative of East Kazakhstan Region Askar Omirzak won the bronze medal in the decathlon at the 22nd Asian U20 Athletics Championships currently taking place in Hong Kong. Over two days of competition, the Kazakh combined-events athlete confidently completed all ten disciplines of the decathlon. On the first day, he ran 100 metres in 11.07 seconds, jumped 6.09 m in the long jump, threw the shot put 12.33 m, cleared 1.78 m in the high jump, and finished the 400 metres in 49.79 seconds. On the second day, Askar clocked 14.75 seconds in the 110 m hurdles, threw the discus 39.73 m, cleared 3.70 m in the pole vault, threw the javelin 45.67 m, and completed the 1500 metres in 4:42.56. At the end of the competition, Askar scored 6774 points, set a personal best, and finished third among Asia’s strongest U20 decathletes. India’s Rahul Jakhar won the gold medal, while his compatriot Upkar Upkar took silver. Ceremonial Welcome for the Champions: Athletes of the EKR Athletics Sports School Returned from the National Championships

The team of the East Kazakhstan Region Specialized Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve for Athletics solemnly welcomed the regional squad returning from the Republic of Kazakhstan Athletics Championships among U16 boys and girls and U23 youth athletes. At the U16 championship, the team earned an honorable third place in the overall standings with 18,573 points. At the U23 championship, the team achieved victory, taking first place with a total of 28,224 points. Congratulations to all winners, medalists, and their coaches on this well-deserved success!
Medals in Sprint, Jumps and Relays: East Kazakhstan Team’s Results in Shymkent

From May 19 to 21, the Republic of Kazakhstan Athletics Championships among U16 boys and girls, as well as U23 athletes, were held in Shymkent. A total of 712 athletes from all regions of the country took part in the competition. The East Kazakhstan Region team performed successfully, winning medals in sprint events, relays, jumps, throws, and combined events. On the opening day, East Kazakhstan athletes already achieved several podium finishes. In the U16 category, Mukhamed Goibov won the 100 m race with a result of 11.80 seconds. Zakhar Chebunin claimed bronze in the 1500 m race, while the East Kazakhstan men’s team took silver in the 4×100 m relay. Among the girls, Daria Sitnikova won silver in the 100 m with a time of 12.69, and the women’s 4×100 m relay team also finished second. In the U23 category, athletes in technical disciplines delivered strong performances. Konstantin Uteshev won the shot put with a result of 14.86 m. In the women’s high jump, Faina Meyrmanova claimed gold with 1.75 m, while Zhasmin Begalinova took bronze with 1.65 m. Natalia Sokolova earned silver in the javelin throw with 40.95 m. The East Kazakhstan men’s team also won bronze in the 4×100 m relay. The second day of competition brought more medals for East Kazakhstan athletes. In the U16 category, Mukhamed Goibov won the 200 m race in 23.57 seconds, securing his second individual gold medal of the championship. Among the girls, Daria Sitnikova also won the 200 m event with a result of 26.28. Yana Khairutdinova took silver in the 100 m hurdles, while Zukhra Karimova finished second in the triple jump with 10.69 m. Roman Kovalyov won bronze in the high jump. In the U23 competitions, one of the standout results was Ivan Sening’s victory in the decathlon with 6403 points. In the men’s high jump, Ramazan Bakytzhanov won silver and Ruslan Lomtev claimed bronze, both clearing 1.95 m. Arina Mozulyako won the women’s discus throw with a mark of 38.83 m. The East Kazakhstan team also won the Mixed Relay 4×400 m event and earned bronze in the Mixed Relay 4×100 m. The third day of competition also brought several successful results for the East Kazakhstan team. In the U16 category, Yana Khairutdinova won the long jump event, while the East Kazakhstan men’s team claimed victory in the Swedish relay 100+200+300+400 m with a result of 2:12.21. In the U23 category, Kanagat Manash won silver in the 400 m hurdles with a time of 54.40. The East Kazakhstan men’s team won the 4×400 m relay in 3:21.46. Aldiyar Kayrollaev earned bronze in the hammer throw with 47.39 m. Among the women, Arina Gladysheva won the 5000 m race in 17:49.16, while the women’s 4×400 m relay team finished second. A student of the East Kazakhstan Regional Specialized Youth Sports School for Athletics has returned home with a bronze medal after clearing 1.80 m in the high jump at the Asian Athletics Championships held in Chongqing. This achievement became an important success not only for the athlete herself, but also for the entire national athletics community. The ceremonial welcome was held in a warm and joyful atmosphere. Colleagues, coaches, and the school administration warmly greeted the athlete, expressing pride in her achievement and support on her path toward new heights. Results of Day Two of the Kazakhstan Athletics Championships The Kazakhstan Athletics Championships for boys and girls under 16 (U16), as well as the U23 youth category, continue in Shymkent. On the second day of competition, athletes from the East Kazakhstan Region once again delivered strong performances, adding gold, silver, and bronze medals to the team’s tally. Among the U16 athletes, sprinters and field event competitors stood out. Darya Sitnikova claimed victory in the women’s 200 meters with a confident time of 26.28. In the boys’ 200 meters, Mukhamed Goibov won the gold medal with a result of 23.57. In the girls’ 100-meter hurdles, Yana Khairutdinova earned the silver medal with a time of 15.31. Another silver medal for the team came from Zukhra Karimova in the triple jump with a result of 10.69. In the high jump sector, Roman Kovalyov became the bronze medalist after clearing 1.60 meters. The second day was also successful for the U23 athletes. Arina Mozulyako won the discus throw with a mark of 38.83 meters. In the men’s high jump, two representatives of East Kazakhstan reached the podium: Ramazan Bakytzhanov won silver, while Ruslan Lomtev took bronze. Both athletes cleared 1.95 meters.
