The Open Championship of EKR Cross-Country Running and Athletics Tetrathlon Was Held in Ust-Kamenogorsk
On September 12, 2026, the Open Championship of East Kazakhstan Region in cross-country running among boys born in 2011–2012, older boys born in 2009–2010, juniors born in 2007–2008, youth born in 2004–2006, and adults, as well as in athletics tetrathlon among boys and girls born in 2013–2014 and younger, was held in Ust-Kamenogorsk. The cross-country competitions were held in Samal Park. The athletics tetrathlon began early in the morning at 08:30 at the Olga Rypakova Athletics Center on Satpayev Avenue. The weather was favorable for the competition: the day was warm and sunny, creating good conditions both for the runners competing in the cross-country distances and for the young tetrathlon participants, who competed in the 60-meter and 600-meter races, long jump, and ball throw. Athletes from different age categories took to the start — from younger boys to adult athletes, competing individually over distances ranging from 2 to 12 kilometers. The competition was organized by the Public Association “Athletics Federation of East Kazakhstan Region” and the Municipal State Institution “East Kazakhstan Regional Specialized Children and Youth Olympic Reserve School of Athletics”, with the support of the State Institution “Department of Physical Culture and Sports of East Kazakhstan Region”. One of the objectives of the competition is to form the East Kazakhstan Region national team for participation in the upcoming Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
