Results of Day 1 of the Kazakhstan Athletics Championships
The XXXV Kazakhstan Athletics Championships, the country’s premier athletics competition, have officially started in Astana. The championships are being held from July 22 to 24 and have brought together the nation’s strongest athletes from all regions of Kazakhstan. East Kazakhstan Region is represented by 35 athletes competing in 21 events. Following the first day of competition, the region’s athletes achieved the following results: Men 400 m 1st place – Elnor Mukhitdinov – 47.66 2nd place – Yefim Tarassov – 48.11 1500 m 1st place – Igor Khrunin – 4:00.75 10,000 m 2nd place – Shadrack Kimutai Koech – 30:48.08 4×100 m Relay 2nd place – East Kazakhstan Region Team – 42.54 Javelin Throw 1st place – Alexey Khlystov – 70.47 m 2nd place – Artur Gafner – 70.40 m Shot Put 1st place – Ivan Ivanov – 18.57 m Women 10,000 m 1st place – Daisy Jepkemei – 33:52.33 3rd place – Caroline Chepkoech Kipkirui – 36:41.73 4×100 m Relay 3rd place – East Kazakhstan Region Team – 49.40 High Jump 2nd place – Yelizaveta Matveyeva – 1.80 m 3rd place – Nadezhda Dubovitskaya – 1.75 m Long Jump 1st place – Anastassiya Rypakova – 6.11 m Javelin Throw 1st place – Varvara Nazarova – 45.75 m The Kazakhstan Athletics Championships will continue through July 24.
