London is made for Rypakova!

To be fair, the level of competition this time was surprisingly low. The leaders of the world season, Olha Saladukha from Ukraine, Caterine Ibargüen from Colombia, and Ekaterina Koneva from Russia, skipped this start, apparently laying low before the World Athletics Championships in Beijing, which is just less than a month away. In the absence of top-tier stars, Rypakova had to compete against not-so-famous athletes. While the names of Kimberly Williams from Jamaica and Dana Velďáková from Slovakia are more or less familiar to the most meticulous athletics fans, even our correspondent heard of the Lithuanian Dovilė Dzindzaletaitė for the first time. Accordingly, the results turned out to be low. Our “prima’s” best jump reached 14.33 m—hardly a grandmaster result either. Williams jumped 18 cm shorter than the take-off board and took second place, while third place went to Velďáková with a jump of 13.66 m, which is laughable for such a level. Source: vksport.kz
