The Head of State visited East Kazakhstan Region

In the afternoon, on June 23, Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev arrived on a working trip to East Kazakhstan. The Head of State visited the Martial Arts Palace, the athletics center and the swimming pool. During the visit, he got acquainted with the progress of work on the comprehensive development of the sports base of the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, as well as with projects implemented in the field of sports, education, and youth policy of the East Kazakhstan region. Nursultan Nazarbayev also talked with veterans of the sports sector of the region, noting positive changes. – Thanks to economic development, we have the opportunity to solve social issues, including in sports. Sports facilities are being restored and built all over the country. The results of our athletes are also dynamically improving in all areas. All this is of crucial importance for strengthening the health of the nation,” the Head of State said.

The Green Mile

The premiere of “The Green Mile” starring Olga Rypakova took place The Green Marathon, a traditional environmental campaign for Russia, ended with a real athletics holiday. It’s just that exactly so many Russian cities have “joined” this year to this project. Ust-Kamenogorsk became the 43rd in this row. In general, only four cities in Kazakhstan have organized the “Green Mile” at home. – The main purpose of the campaign is to introduce people to sports and draw attention to environmental problems, – says Elena Savushkina, Director of the VK branch of Sberbank of Russia. – All 130 of our employees in Ust-Kamenogorsk took part in the campaign. We hope that the rest of Ustkamenogorets will eventually join not only sports, but also nature. We hope that everyone will enjoy this celebration of sports. As part of the campaign, competitions in several athletics disciplines were held in the arena: 60-meter running, 4 200-meter relay races, 1000-meter race and long jump from a place. Olympic Champion Olga Rypakova became one of the main actors. Children Protection Day

Children Protection Day Ust-Kamenogorsk celebrated Children’s Protection Day on June 1, 2014. Festive events were held in the amphitheater of the city. A carnival, a musical concert and even a parade of baby strollers. East Kazakhstan Youth Sports School for Athletics of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports The East Kazakhstan region organized fun starts for everyone. Children enjoyed participating in relay races, jumping rope, running races, overcoming improvised obstacles. All participants of the fun starts received sweet prizes. Among the spectators was Olga Rypakova, who came to the celebration with her family, supported the children and took several memorable photos for the children.  

The Presidential Mile

The Presidential Mile race at EXPO OSKEMEN-2014 On May 24, 2014, Ust-Kamenogorsk hosted a mass race among residents and guests of the city for the presidential mile (2,400 m) as part of EXPO OSKEMEN – 2014. This race was attended by the coach of our school, Kelemedenova Meruert Kanatovna, who took first place in her age category and the head of sports facilities, Serikbayeva Saule Seitkeshovna, in the age group of 55 years, the third place.  The judging of this event was conducted by the coaches of the Youth Sports School in athletics; Peshko L.V., Lushpai R.B., Lukashina N.N. and others.   The Department of Physical culture and Sports of the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, headed by its head Seitkozhinov R.M., took an active part in the organization and conduct of the athletics race.

Visit of the Consul General of China to Kazakhstan

The consul general of China in Kazakhstan, Ms. Du Daven, is at the Athletics Center.  During her visit to the East Kazakhstan region, the consul general of China in Kazakhstan, Ms. Du Daven, paid an introductory visit to the Athletics Center. Du Daven conducted a tour of the arena for MS. and showed the new arena where future champions would be engaged.

Olga Rypakova’s first training session

On May 4, Olga Rypakova held her first training session at the Athletics Center bearing her name. These were joint classes with long jumper Daria Shushenkova and sprinter Vladislav Alyoshin. Honored Coach of Kazakhstan Sergey Alekseev led the training. It is curious that the Olympic champion herself spent a little time as a mentor – during the training she gave little instructions to her daughter Anastasia, who also took part in the warm-up.
