Nazar Terentyev from Ridder distinguished himself among the younger boys, who won in the 400 and 800 meters (the coaches are the Podkorytov family). Ust-Kamenogorsk’s Zhandos Kumarbekov (Rashida Lushpai’s coach) won among the older boys in the same sports. Glubokov junior sprinter Vladislav Sutyagin performed well. Athletes of Ust-Kamenogorsk won the East Kazakhstan Region home championship
The organizers of the tournament were the Athletics Federation of the region and the regional Department of Physical Culture and Sports. The tournament turned out to be quite massive, for example, there were more than 100 champions and prize-winners alone! However, this could well not be the limit – due to bad weather conditions, athletes from Shemonaiha, Zyryanovsk and Zaisan could not come to Ust-Kamenogorsk. In the absence of guys from these regions, it was necessary to distribute awards among athletes from Ust-Kamenogorsk, Ridder, Glubokovsky and Ulansky districts and, of course, Semey. The regional championship was held in three age categories at once, because it is no secret that Ust-Kamenogorsk will soon host several national championships in a row. Therefore, it was absolutely necessary to check everyone in the case. In the team competition, the competition hosts from Ust-Kamenogorsk turned out to be the strongest, winning 34 diplomas for the first places. The second step of the team podium was taken by athletes from Semey with 17 victories in the asset, and the third place went to the guests from Ridder – 10 first places. The most successful athletes of the last championship were Arthur Khabibullin from Semey for boys, who won five championship titles, and Oryngul Zkrienova and Anastasia Zavodina for girls, who each took four first places in various types of the program.
