Elizaveta Matveyeva won the gold medal in the high jump at the 11th Asian Indoor Games in Tehran. Yelizaveta achieved a score of 186. The second and third place was taken by the athletes from China with a score of 186 and 183. Congratulations to Elizaveta Matveeva and her coach Lyudmila Valentinovna Peshko!
Kasym-Jomart Tokayev visited the Olga Rypakova Athletics Center
During his working trip to East Kazakhstan Oblast, the Head of State familiarized himself with the work of the Olga Rypakova Athletics Center and the regional specialized children’s and youth sports school of Olympic reserve (SDYUSHOR) in athletics. Olympic champion Olga Rypakova told the President that the center has all the conditions for regular year-round training sessions. Since the opening of the school, all of Kazakhstan’s winter athletics championships have been held here. Currently, the center trains 713 pupils, who regularly take prizes at national and international competitions. In 2023, athletes brought 281 medals to the school’s piggy bank. In addition, Olga Rypakova voiced a number of proposals for the development of athletics in the country. In particular, she considers it important to create a sports medicine center in the region, which allows combining training camps of track and field athletes with medical and recovery procedures in the favorable natural environment of Altai. Since 2015, the tournament for the prizes of Olga Rypakova has been held here. The competition has been assigned the World Athletics Continental Tour level, which allows athletes to earn points in the world ranking. The famous sportswoman asked for assistance in raising the status of this tournament to the “silver” level. This requires renovation of the arena surface, as well as an increase in the amount of the prize fund. The head of state instructed Deputy Prime Minister Tamara Duisenova and Akim Ermek Kosherbayev to take this issue under control. Then the President talked to the athletes. On the first day of winter, from November 23 to 30, a solemn meeting of the Asia-Pacific Championship among athletes with hearing impairments took place in Tehran (Iran). Faina Meyrmanova won the high jump with a result of 1.70. Friends, colleagues and relatives welcomed our athlete!
