The Open Championship “New Year’s High Jump” Took Place at the Olga Rypakova Athletics Center

On December 20, 2025, the annual Open Championship “New Year’s High Jump” for the prizes of Ded Moroz was held at the Olga Rypakova Athletics Center in Ust-Kamenogorsk. The competition brought together young athletes born in 2013–2014, as well as participants born in 2015 and younger. The event began with a ceremonial parade of participants at 9:45 a.m., after which the athletes started their competitions. Throughout the day, young track and field athletes competed in the 50 m and 300 m races, long jump, and high jump. For the youngest participants, the long jump was performed from a standing position. The championship took place in a warm, festive atmosphere, combining sporting excitement with New Year’s spirit. The participants demonstrated a high level of preparation, determination, and genuine joy from taking part in the competition. The sports festival concluded with an awards ceremony at 3:00 p.m., where winners and prizewinners received their well-deserved awards, along with positive emotions and motivation for future achievements. The organizers expressed their gratitude to the athletes, coaches, and parents for their active participation and support, noting that the “New Year’s High Jump” championship has already become a good sporting tradition. The Open Championship of the EKR YSSOlR in Athletics was successfully held in Ust-Kamenogorsk

On December 13, 2025, the open championship of the KGU “East Kazakhstan Regional Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve in Athletics” was successfully held in Ust-Kamenogorsk at the “Olga Rypakova” Athletics Center, dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The competition featured athletes born in 2011–2012 and younger, who demonstrated high performance and fighting spirit at every stage. The events began at 9:00 AM with shot put, where participants competed for leadership in this strength discipline. Throughout the day, races in 60 m hurdles, high jump, long jump, as well as 300 m, 600 m, and 1000 m distances took place. There was fierce competition among girls and boys. The athletes demonstrated excellent technique, high speed, and confidence in their abilities. After the final races, the winners and prize-winners were awarded. Medals and commemorative prizes were given to the best athletes in each discipline. The results of all winners and prize-winners will be published later. An athletics competition dedicated to Kazakhstan’s Independence Day was held in Ridder

From December 5 to 6, the sports module in the city of Ridder hosted the open athletics championship of the KSU “Youth Sports School,” dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Athletes from various sports schools took part in the competition — from the youngest participants born in 2015 to teenagers born in 2009. The event aimed to foster patriotism among young people, promote a healthy lifestyle, and popularize athletics.The organization and management of the competition were provided by the judging panel of the KSU “Youth Sports School” of Ridder, led by Chief Judge E.A. Podkorytov. Young athletes competed in individual events. The older age groups ran distances of 400 and 1500 meters, while the younger groups competed in 300 and 1000 meters.Following the results of the championship, winners and prize-holders were awarded diplomas of various degrees and sweet gifts.
Ceremonial welcome for Faina Meirmanova

On November 29, a ceremonial welcome was held for Faina Meirmanova, who returned home as a champion from the Deaflympics held in Tokyo, Japan, from November 15 to 26, 2025. Kazakhstani athlete Faina Meirmanova won the gold medal in the high jump, setting a new Games record — 1.79 m!Silver — Anna Suravets (1.76 m),Bronze — Leia Glonarik (1.67 m). Faina is an International Master of Sports.In 2024, in Taipei, she set a world U20 record, and later became the Asia-Pacific Games champion in long jump. She is 19 years old, represents the East Kazakhstan region, and has been training in athletics for about seven years.
