Results of the Kazakhstan U18 Athletics Championships: East Kazakhstan’s Medal Winners

The Kazakhstan U18 Athletics Championships concluded in Shymkent. Athletes from the East Kazakhstan Regional Specialized Youth Sports School (EKR SDYUSHOR) represented their region with distinction, winning medals on each of the three competition days.

Day 1

The East Kazakhstan team made a strong start to the championships. Roman Verchenko won the shot put title with a mark of 15.23 m. Darya Potocheskaya claimed gold in the 400 m with a time of 57.84 seconds, while the East Kazakhstan women’s 4×100 m relay team took first place in 49.78 seconds. The men’s 4×100 m relay team earned bronze in 44.04 seconds.

Silver medals were won by Daniil Mironenko in the 100 m (11.10 seconds) and Darya Sitnikova in the girls’ 100 m (12.67 seconds). Bronze medals went to Timur Zhanassov (400 m — 51.91 seconds), Platon Kruglov (pole vault — 3.70 m), Amina Zhainakova (100 m — 12.68 seconds), and Zukhra Karimova (high jump — 1.60 m).

Day 2

The second day was highlighted by the high jump competition. Ramazan Bakytzhanov won gold with a clearance of 1.95 m, while Nurtas Rakhimzhanov took silver after clearing 1.90 m. Bronze medals were claimed by the mixed 4×100 m relay team of Lyubima Belousova, Amina Zhainakova, Daniil Mironenko and Darya Sitnikova (46.64 seconds), Darya Sitnikova in the 200 m (25.98 seconds), and Yana Khairutdinova in the long jump (5.50 m).

Day 3

The final day of competition brought three more medals. Darya Potocheskaya once again stood on the top step of the podium, winning the 800 m in 2:17.82 and completing a championship double. The East Kazakhstan women’s team of Amina Zhainakova, Darya Sitnikova, Nadiya Kerimova, Darya Potocheskaya and Yasmina Tusupova won silver in the 100+200+300+400 m relay with a time of 2:17.50. Yasmina Tusupova earned the bronze medal in the 400 m hurdles, finishing in 1:06.85.

The championships once again demonstrated the high level of preparation of East Kazakhstan’s young athletes.
