Results of the Kazakhstan Athletics Championship. Day One

On the first day of the Kazakhstan Indoor Athletics Championship, the country’s most famous athlete competed.

The opening day of the championship will be remembered by everyone present, as 2012 Olympic champion Olga Rypakova competed among the athletes at the Ust-Kamenogorsk arena.

Two athletes from Ust-Kamenogorsk had the opportunity to represent East Kazakhstan (VKO) in the long jump at this championship. Alongside Rypakova, one of the youngest athletes of the championship, Anastasia Zavodina, also jumped, finishing fifth out of seven participants.

Long Jump (7 participants):

Sergey Ershov brought a silver medal in the 1500 m race for the VKO team.

The fight for medals over this distance was extremely intense. Alexey Ershov won the silver medal, finishing just over one second behind the winner, Alexey Gusarov. The results were very close, and Gusarov’s victory was largely due to his extensive winning experience at this distance.

1500 m Run. Men (12 participants):

  1. Alexey Gusarov (Almaty) – 3:58.59

  2. Sergey ERSHOV (VKO) – 3:59.86

  3. Mikhail Krasilov (Zhambyl Region) – 4:00.08

On the first competition day, the men’s shot put event also took place.

The first place was taken by VKO athlete Damir Kasaínov, who not only won but also set a personal record of 15.82 m.

Another athlete, Nikolay Klimenko, also reached the podium, winning the bronze medal.

In the men’s high jump event, only four athletes participated: two from Karaganda Region, one from Almaty, and one from Akmola Region.

Two participants from Karaganda and Almaty finished with the same result, but Yuri Dergachev pulled ahead by making more successful attempts.

  2. Roman Loshkarev (Almaty) – 216 cm

  3. Denis Sokolov (Karaganda Region) – 204 cm
