Results of the first two days of the X Asian Indoor Athletics Championships
On February 10, the X Asian Indoor Athletics Championships started in Astana. The opening ceremony was attended by President of the Asian Athletics Association Dahlan Al-Hamad, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, President of the Athletics Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan Danial Akhmetov and wished success to athletes from 31 countries.

In the first final of the evening session, Kazakhstan got its first medal in the piggy bank. Caroline Chepkoech Kipkirui finished first in the 3000 meters and became the champion. And in the 60-meter run, Olga Safronova won the silver medal. She covered this distance in 7.32 seconds. An athlete from Iran, Farzane Fashihi, became the first with a score of 7.28 seconds, and Indonesian Valentin Vaneza took 3rd place (7.37 seconds).
Kazakhstani athletes specializing in the 400m were the first to cross the finish line in qualifying competitions. As a result, Mikhail Litvin reached the final of the championship with a score of 46.97, Vyacheslav Zems with a score of 47.32. The final in this discipline will be held on February 11 at 20:15.
In the men’s shot put, Tajenderpal Side Tour (India) took 1st place with a score of 19.49 meters, Karanvir Side (India) took 2nd place with a score of 19.37 meters. Zheng Xiaodong (China)He summed up the leadership in this discipline with a score of 18.85 meters.
According to the results of the women’s pentathlon, Ekaterina Voronina from Uzbekistan took 1st place with a total of 862 points, the Indian athlete – 2nd place, and the athlete from Japan – Yuki Yamashaki – 3rd place, 846 points.
On the second day of the X Asian Indoor Athletics Championships, which takes place in Astana, Akbayan Nurmamet won a bronze medal in the 1500 meters. In the men’s 400m race, our compatriot Mikhail Litvin finished second with a score of 46.39 seconds. He lost the first place by a few milliseconds (46.25 seconds) to Qatari athlete Amar Ismail Ibrahim. Chinese Fan Tianrui closes the top three (47.30 seconds).
In the women’s 400 meters, our compatriot Elina Mikhina won the gold medal of the Asian Championship with a score of 54.07. The second place was taken by Vietnamese Ti Uen (54.67 seconds), the 3rd place was taken by Indonesian athlete Sri Maya (54.88).
The gold medal was won by an athlete from Bangladesh with a score of 6.59 seconds in the men’s 60 meters. Shak Kam Ching (Hong Kong) took second place with a score of 6.65 seconds, and Ryota Suzuki (Japan) took third place with a score of 6.66 seconds.
Among women, the pole vault champion was Japanese Mayu Nasu, having overcome a height of 4 meters. And the Indian athlete took second place with an indicator of 4 meters, second only in the number of attempts. Rosie Meena Paulraj (India) took third place with a score of 3.90 meters.
