The famous Kazakhstani track and field athlete Olga Rypakova competed at her fourth Olympic Games. Unfortunately, she did not manage to reach the final. The Olympic champion commented on her performance, told about her plans, as well as whether she will participate in the next Games in Paris, reports Olympic.kz .
“It is difficult to assess today’s competition. The Fourth Olympiad, and, of course, there is something to compare it with. It was weird, actually. Usually I am charged by the atmosphere of the stadium, this boiling energy from the stands. You are charging yourself with it without noticing it. But by no means do I want to say that my performance depended on the audience, of course not. I set myself up for maximum jumps, for everything that I am able to give out at the moment. It felt good.”
“The preparation was not easy. Age still makes itself felt. The results are falling every year. And during the preparation, old injuries come up all the time or something gets in the way. It was difficult, there was a mood for last year. Personally, I tried to find advantages in postponing the Olympics, get additional treatment, and prepare better.”
“If we talk about motivation, you need to love your sport with your soul. Then you will work to please people with your performance. And seeing their happiness and joy, you will be motivated and try even more. Otherwise it doesn’t work.”
“I can’t assess what happened yet. Maybe later, when I talk to the coach or watch my jumps. Something in general was in the way. Maybe it was old injuries. Of course, there were no critical reasons, it was possible to jump. But that’s how it happened.”
“Thanks to all the fellow countrymen who were sick and worried about me. There were a lot of messages and support the day before. I am very grateful.”
Rypakova also spoke about the furore that the national team of Kazakhstan made at the opening of the Olympic Games.
“If we talk about the additional popularity that hit us after the opening ceremony, I tried to protect myself from it. Because I don’t like excessive attention to myself before startups, I try not to communicate with journalists, not to post anything on social networks. To create, so to speak, a closed little world around oneself, so as not to be distracted by concentrating on competitions”!.
“I am glad that at the opening I pleased my fans and fans, as well as found new ones. Many thanks to the National Olympic Committee and the designers who put a lot of work into this image. It’s all their merit, my job is to go out and show it. I’m glad it turned out that way.”
The famous athlete commented on the opportunity to perform at the Games in Paris with her daughter Anastasia.
“This is a very big question about my participation in the Paris Games. I can’t promise. My daughter is growing up, and perhaps we will see her success in the future. But again, I don’t want to rush things. With small steps, she goes into professional sports. If she has an aspiration and a desire, of course we will support her.”
“I haven’t decided what I’m going to do yet. There are some ideas, they are related to sports, of course. I am a fan of athletics, the queen of sports. And I want her to live in Kazakhstan in a really royal way. I want this sport to develop in our country and become the leading one in the country. To make a contribution for future generations.”
Let’s add that Rypakova has three Olympic medals in her assets: gold of the OI-2012, silver of the OI-2008 and bronze of the OI-2016. Olga has been one of the leaders in this discipline for a long time.
