Olympic champion and multiple Olympic medalist, Russian track and field athlete Olga Rypakova has officially completed her professional career. She announced this at the closing of the 10th Asian Indoor Athletics Championships.
“I am grateful to my country! From the president and sports executives to his youngest fan, only for one single, but very important thing – faith in me. I am grateful to fate and God for the opportunity to realize me as a person, as a professional athlete,” the athlete said.
For his great contribution to the development of domestic sports, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan sent a letter of thanks to the athlete.
“Your bright victories will forever remain in the hearts of Kazakhstani fans. We appreciate your dedication to sports and principles. Thousands of children across the country will follow your example and continue the traditions of national athletics.
