The competitions in men’s 10-wrestle and women’s 7-wrestle at the Kazakhstan Championship, which ended on June 14 in Almaty, turned out to be quite representative compared to the National Cup held in mid-May.
At the cup tournament, only four participants (one man and three women) came to the start, and now there were ten people on the application lists at once. Moreover, for representatives of the stronger sex, all athletes, without exception, overcame the multi-species distance to the end, while for women, two athletes still came off ahead of time for medical reasons.
The dispute over the final victory in the men’s competition broke out between Almaty residents – 22-year-old Evgeny Marchenkov and 24-year-old Alexander Kasyanov (participant of the Kazakhstan Cup). Kasyanov also took the lead after the first five types, ahead of his main competitor by more than 200 points. But on the second day, Marchenkov performed much better in discus, javelin and pole vault. This allowed him to come out on top and maintain his advantage after the final discipline – running 1,500 meters.
For women, as in cup competitions, the ball was ruled by the strongest heptathlete of the country today – 23-year-old Nadezhda Kirnos from the Mangystau region. She achieved a good gap from her rivals already in the first form – the 100-meter hurdles, and by the end of the tournament she had significantly increased it. That’s just his final result (5,190 points) Nadezhda was hardly satisfied. A month ago, she managed to score 5,376 points.
