On June 13, four sets of awards in the 800-meter and 3-kilometer steeplechase were awarded at the Kazakhstan Championship in Almaty.
In the men’s 800 meters, the winner and the prize-winners showed quite solid results. Sergey Zaikov turned out to be a little faster than Imanmadi Kusmanov and Evgeny Arkhipov and became the champion. The women won Tatiana Neroznak, who overtook Victoria Ryzhikova and Evgenia Fandyushina.
The real test of strength for the participants was the 3000-meter steeplechase, or as it is also called steeplechase. In addition to the usual barriers, athletes overcome pits with water. The most enduring among men in this discipline turned out to be Dmitry Ivanchukov from Zhambyl region, who became the champion of Kazakhstan. Islam Amangos from Almaty was ten seconds behind him, and the lag of the third prize-winner Rakhymzhan Kelmanov was almost half a minute.
For women, three participants came to the start of this discipline, and all of them managed to finish. I crossed the finish line first Svetlana Saunina, followed by Elizaveta Astafieva and Lyudmila Monina.
