A day before the long-awaited International Athletics Competitions, a press conference was held with foreign athletes. Despite the fact that a considerable number of athletes from other countries have arrived, last year’s participants also appear on the lists. One of these is Victoria Zyabkina, who last year, unfortunately, stopped 0.01 seconds from the record of Kazakhstan, but at the Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan she still set this result thanks to her efforts. This time, Victoria does not set herself any specific result. – As it is destined to be, so it will be, – the record holder of Kazakhstan believes. – This is a holiday that people enjoy. Year after year we come here, to this big athletics house. This is our only house in the whole of Kazakhstan, which, thanks to the Rypakov family, everyone now has. For the second year in a row, guests from Azerbaijan Hakim Ibrahimov and Arif Abbasov have come to these competitions, but this time another athlete from this country Ekaterina Sarieva came with them, who will compete in the triple jump. But the Azerbaijani athlete Hakim Ibrahimov, who is experienced in these competitions, became the winner in 2016, and even set a competition record in the 800 m run. – To be honest, I myself only recently found out that I set a record. Literally, I read it on the Internet a month ago (smiles). As for last year, then I competed in the 800 m, and this year I will compete in the 400 m, but if I manage to assemble the relay, I will also participate in it, while we have only two guys. Representatives of Georgia, Armenia, Uzbekistan and Belarus came to us for the first time, and also shared their impressions a little. – This is an amazing arena, – Nigina Sharipova from Uzbekistan. – There are no such structures where I come from. Therefore, winter is a failure for me. Foreign athletes share such serious experiences with us, and at the same time admire the fact that it was Ust-Kamenogorsk that opened a second wind for winter starts. The highlight of our meeting was still the guests from Malaysia Nadia Noor and Kirtana Ramasamy. For these girls, the invitation to take part in International competitions for the prizes of Olga Rypakova became special, if only because the athletes had to fly from warm Kuala Lampur to cold Ust-Kamenogorsk. Everything is new to athletes: the country, the competitions, and even the snow. After all, in the capital of Malaysia, at a temperature of +20 in February, it is unlikely that you will ever see such precipitation. Kirtana, like Olga Rypakova, performs in the triple jump, and the athlete shared her emotions with the audience. – We were invited through the coach. And this is very important for us. It was the first time I saw Olympic champion Olga Rypakova live, but I had heard a lot about her. My personal best is 13.31 m, but of course I would really like to break my personal record and show myself. The second representative of Malaysia, Nadia Noor, will jump in length. – If luck turns to face me, then I will take the first place, – Nadia expressed hope. – We do not have such arenas in Malaysia, so I will have to perform indoors for the first time in my career. It will be a great experience for me. We knew that it was cold here, and it was very good that the competitions were not held outside (laughs). This is the first time we’ve seen snow, and it’s very interesting for us. On such a pleasant note, our meeting with foreign representatives ended. We took into account some mistakes, shortcomings in the past, and tried to fix them. The Department of Physical Culture and Sports of East Kazakhstan Region helps us with the organization of the opening – it will be more extensive. – What makes you take part in the organization of this tournament, because this is a large number of problems that need to be solved very carefully. Where do you get your strength from? Moreover, you are also going to compete at the 2020 Olympic Games. – Why are we doing this? Firstly, so that we in Kazakhstan already have our own international competitions, grand Prix, etc. They are available in every country, and we also want Kazakhstan to have such interesting competitions, where athletes from other countries come. Maybe even promote your country (laughs) so that more people know about us. We get ideas where I perform, Denis Sergeevich and I also go to various competitions, we really like the organization, and the atmosphere in general. She is very positive, very positive, these are not competitions where results and records are required. They just come here to show themselves, to look at others, to compete. It’s a celebration of sports. I also want our country to have such a holiday. We attract as many people as possible. I just want it to be a holiday. The men’s team was let down by a hitch during the first relay transfer. Vladislav Sutyagin and Vitaly Licenberger could not work synchronously, as a result of which the gap between the rivals became noticeable. At the last stage of the East Kazakhstan Region national team, Vladislav Leshin, the champion of Kazakhstan in the 200 m race of 2015, ran, who managed to win back almost 20 meters of the gap, but the East Kazakhstan Region national team still finished second in its race. Unfortunately, this race did not become the strongest in terms of speed, and our four remained without a medal. But as part of the Almaty men’s national team, Amal Syzdykov, a pupil of the East Kazakhstan athletics school, ran, who managed to win a bronze award. Winter Championship of the RK, long jump (women) – master class of the Olympic champion
The performance of the Olympic gold medal winner Olga Rypakova became the main event of the first day of the 2017 Winter Championship of Kazakhstan in Ust-Kamenogorsk on February 10. And even in her non–core discipline, the long jump, she won like a champion, with a clear advantage. Despite the fact that the Olympic champion will focus all her efforts on the summer season this year, she showed a decent result in the class – 6.44 meters, at least at the Asian level. At the same time, in two other attempts, she flew 6.41 and 6.37 meters, once again proving that stability is a sign of class. The disappointing moment was that only 7 participants from four regions – East Kazakhstan, Karaganda, South Kazakhstan and North Kazakhstan – entered the long jump sector. The results of the second and third prize-winners are not high – 5.92 meters for Marina Ovchinnikova from Karaganda and 5.76 meters for Anna Gorodkova from Southern Kazakhstan. However, experts advise not to rush to far-reaching conclusions, paying attention, first of all, to Ovchinnikova. The men’s 60-meter sprint gathered the largest number of participants — 30 athletes — on the first day, February 10, of the Winter Athletics Championship of Kazakhstan in Ust-Kamenogorsk.The fastest among them was Vitaly Zems from Karaganda. To determine the 8 finalists, five preliminary heats had to be held.Among the 30 participants were two sprinters from neighboring Kyrgyzstan.Another remarkable detail was the wide geographical diversity of the participants: Aktobe, Almaty, Astana, Akmola and Almaty regions, Pavlodar, Karaganda, North and East Kazakhstan regions, Mangystau, Kostanay, and South Kazakhstan. The majority of the athletes were aged 17 to 20.Although none of the 30 sprinters met the Master of Sports standard, 17 of them achieved results above the Candidate for Master of Sports level.The winner of the Winter Championship, Vitaly Zems from Karaganda (6.90 sec), is 20 years old.The silver medalist, Alexander Kasper from Astana (6.91 sec), is 22, and the bronze medalist, Rustem Almagambetov from Almaty (6.95 sec), is also 22.Thus, the prospects for further improvement in their performance look quite realistic. Men’s Long Jump Concludes Day One of the Kazakhstan Winter Athletics Championship The men’s long jump event took place on February 10 and was the final competition of the first day of the Kazakhstan Winter Athletics Championship in Ust-Kamenogorsk. The victory went to 22-year-old Takhirzhan Kadyrkulov from Akmola Region. The long jumpers, more than other participants, remembered that the competition is held not only for the athletes themselves but also for the spectators. February 10 – 1500 m Races at the Kazakhstan Winter Athletics Championship On February 10, medals were contested in the 1500-meter races for both men and women at the Kazakhstan Winter Athletics Championship in Ust-Kamenogorsk. The results were not particularly high, but a positive aspect was that athletes from 8 regions, as well as Astana and Almaty, participated in this event. In the women’s race, 9 runners took the start. The most experienced, Tatyana Neroznak from Kostanay, quickly pulled ahead of the other competitors and finished alone, significantly ahead of even her closest pursuers. The lack of real competition allowed Neroznak to run without extra effort. This explains her result at the Candidate for Master of Sport level – 4:25.07 minutes. The battle for second place lasted until the final meters. In the end, silver went to Viktoria Ryzhikova from North Kazakhstan – 4:32.38, and bronze to Evgenia Fandyushina from Pavlodar Region – 4:32.52. Both are young athletes, so it is hoped that Viktoria and Evgenia have much more to achieve in the future. In the men’s 1500-meter race, although the times were not very high, the competition was intense and exciting throughout the race. But that’s not the main point. What matters are the heights he is already clearing. He is only 18 years old and just celebrated his birthday in January.
