In Taldykorgan, the first day of RK Cross Country Championship took place.

The first day of the Kazakhstan National Cross Country Championship for U16, U18, U20 and senior athletes took place in Taldykorgan. The competition runs from October 7 to 8. By the end of the first day, athletes from East Kazakhstan had won four medals: one gold, one silver and two bronze. Yaroslava Semenova won the 2 km race in the girls’ U16 category. She finished in 7:00.4, almost 19 seconds ahead of her closest rival. Arina Gladysheva took second place in the women’s U23 8 km race with a time of 27:57.3. She finished less than 11 seconds behind the winner and met the Candidate Master of Sport (KMS) standard. Darya Potocheskaya placed third in the girls’ U18 2 km race (6:51.0). Artyom Firsov won bronze in the boys’ U18 4 km race (12:23.6), just 3.4 seconds behind the winner. After the first day, the East Kazakhstan team has 198 points and sits third in the team standings, behind Zhetysu Region (363) and Almaty (264). How to pick up race numbers

On October 11, an open memorial run in memory of Rakhymgazy Nurgalievich Kosherbaev, Master of Sport of the USSR in athletics, will take place in Ust-Kamenogorsk. Race numbers can be picked up at the conference hall of the Olga Rypakova Athletics Center during working hours on October 8-9.
