An Open Athletics Championship was held in Ust-Kamenogorsk.
The Open Championship of the KSU “East Kazakhstan Regional Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve in Athletics” brought athletes together for two intense days of competition on August 28–29, 2026. The competition program was held at two venues. The technical events — triple jump, long jump, high jump, pole vault, shot put, javelin throw, discus throw and hammer throw — took place at the Olga Rypakova Athletics Center. Meanwhile, the running events, ranging from short sprints over 100 and 200 meters to endurance races over 2,000 and 3,000 meters, as well as hurdles and age-group relay races, were held at Altai Stadium. Young and experienced athletes competed for medals in hard-fought finals, with award ceremonies held following the results of both competition days. The final competition results will be published later.
