In Ust-Kamenogorsk, two major events from the Kazakhstan athletics calendar took place simultaneously — the Kazakhstan Indoor Championships among juniors (U20) and youth (U18). Athletes from the East Kazakhstan Region won a number of medals in various disciplines. U20 (juniors, born 2007–2008) Among the girls, Sofya Kidenko delivered an outstanding performance, winning gold in the 200 meters (25.19) and also taking first place in the 60 meters (7.89). Bronze medals were won by Arina Mozulyako in shot put (11.09) and Evelina Ryabkova in the 400 meters (1:02.51). Zhasmin Begalinova took silver in the high jump (1.60), while Varvara Dmitrieva confidently won the triple jump (12.54). In combined events, Viktoria Klimantseva won the pentathlon (3169 points). Among the junior men, Konstantin Uteshev became champion in shot put (17.02). Assan Azamatuly won silver in the long jump (6.85). Askar Omirzak won the heptathlon (4797 points), while Daniil Marchenko took bronze in the 800 meters (2:00.51). The East Kazakhstan relay team (Evelina Ryabkova, Viktoria Klimantseva, Korchebnova, Sofya Kidenko) finished second in the 4×200 m relay. The girls also won bronze in the 4×400 m relay. U18 (youth, born 2009–2010) Among the boys, Daniil Mironenko won bronze in the 60 meters (7.14). Yerdaulyet Murzamukhambetov also took third place in the 60 m hurdles (8.68). In pole vault, Platon Kruglov won silver (3.90), while Roman Verchenko took bronze in shot put (14.55). The East Kazakhstan relay team (Nikita Bokov, Lyubim Belousov, Yerdaulyet Murzamukhambetov, Daniil Mironenko) finished third in the 4×200 m relay. Among the girls, Darya Potocheskaya stood out, winning gold in the 800 meters (2:18.75) and silver in the 400 meters (57.09). The East Kazakhstan team also won bronze in the 4×400 m relay.
