Results of the East Kazakhstan Region Team at the Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan

The 35th Athletics Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan took place in Astana from January 9 to 11, 2026, at the Kazakhstan Athletics Sports Complex. This championship became the first national competition of 2026 and officially opened the winter athletics season. Athletes from various regions of the country took part in the competition. Special mention should be made of the representatives of the East Kazakhstan Region, who demonstrated strong performances. One of the key highlights of the championship was the performance of Nora Jeruto Tanui, representing the East Kazakhstan Region. She won the 3000 meters with a result of 8:53.30, which became a new national record of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In addition, Nora Jeruto Tanui claimed victory in the 1500 meters. Among the men, athletes from the East Kazakhstan Region distinguished themselves in the running events. El’nor Mukhitdinov won the 400 meters, while Andrey Sokolov took the silver medal. In the 1500 meters, Igor Khrunin finished second. In the technical events, athletes from the East Kazakhstan Region also reached the podium. Akylzhan Toktagalin won the silver medal in the high jump, Asan Azamatuly placed second in the long jump, and Alexey Khlystov became the silver medalist in the shot put. In the heptathlon, Ivan Sening claimed victory. Among the women, representatives of the East Kazakhstan Region showed consistent results in the technical events. Nadezhda Dubovitskaya won the high jump, Elizaveta Matveeva earned the silver medal, and Varvara Dmitrieva took silver medals in both the long jump and the triple jump.
