Kazakhstan’s Athletics Team Member Elizaveta Matveeva Wins Silver Medal at the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships Elizaveta Matveeva, representing Kazakhstan’s athletics team, won a silver medal at the Asian Athletics Championships in Gumi (South Korea). The athlete placed second in the high jump. In her best attempt, Matveeva cleared 186 centimeters. The gold medal went to Pooja Pooja (India) with a jump of 189 centimeters. Safina Sadullaeva (Uzbekistan) also finished second with a jump of 186 centimeters. Kazakhstan now has five medals in total. First-place finishes came from Norah Jeruto (3000m steeplechase) and Daisy Jepkemey (10,000m). Bronze medals were won by Yasmina Toksanbayeva (20km race walk) and Daisy Jepkemey (3000m steeplechase). On May 30, 2025, a pedagogical council was held at the East Kazakhstan Specialized Children’s and Youth School of Olympic Reserve in Athletics (EKSCYSOR in Athletics) with the participation of the coaching staff. The following issues were discussed on the agenda: Summing up the results of training and competition activities. Discussion of the training plan for upcoming competitions. Analysis of athletes’ performances at national and international tournaments. Issues of coach professional development and the introduction of modern methods into the training process. Organization of summer training camps. Current issues of educational work and maintaining sports discipline among students. As a result of the council, specific decisions were made and recommendations were given to coaches to optimize the training process and improve athletic performance.
