A good start
The last days of the outgoing March were remembered by our athletes as a bright “first step” in this season. After all, not all athletes could perform in their signature sports during the winter competitions. While some have been performing at the Olga Rypakova Athletics Center since the beginning of January, others have meanwhile been getting in shape in the throwing sectors and at training camps in other countries. East Kazakhstan residents brought more than ten awards from warm Shymkent. As expected, the first places in the javelin throw will be taken by the record holders of Kazakhstan Varvara Nazarova and Arthur Gafner. If we compare their performances with last year, the changes are noticeably visible. The best javelin thrower of Kazakhstan in 2017 She showed a result of 47.57 m, leaving behind five competitors, among whom is the same silver medalist of this start, Asia Rabayeva from the Mangystau region, and with her fellow countryman Nadezhda Kirnos – 31.90 m (third place). This year Nazarova added 71 cm – 48.28 m. Gafner, in turn, also remains the leader among javelin throwers, but with a different result. Last year’s best attempt in this competition was 63.54 m, this year the athlete sent a javelin to 53.41. But this result was enough for Arthur to become the first. By the way, another athlete from East Kazakhstan Region, Erbol Kalenov, did not go far – third place – 51.78 m. Another stable leader in this annual competition is Anastasia Kaloshina in the hammer throw. Her results are getting higher every year, which confirms her intense training and desire to win. Last year, our thrower had more competition – six people entered the sector with her. Kaloshina became the best with a result of 49.18 m, in second place was Yulia Popkova from North Kazakhstan region, whom Anastasia beat by nine meters. This year, only Kaloshina and Svetlana Ionova from the Karaganda region competed in their age group, the difference in the results was 20.9 m (Kaloshina – 53.14 m; Ionova – 32.24 m). Dmitry Lukichev brought two medals in the discus throw and hammer throw to East Kazakhstan Region at once. In fact, this discipline is “golden” for our athletes, because in addition to Lukichev in this form, in the older age group, three athletes from East Kazakhstan Region – Vladimir Torlopov, Oleg Lyubimov and Alexey Vladimirov – took the entire podium at once in exactly this order. Dmitry finished the hammer throw competition with a score of 39.77 m (first place) – this is 18 cm more than last year. But in the discus throw, the athlete’s result showed weaker than in 2017 (it was 39.94 m; it became 39.24 m), but the paradox is that this time he was able to bring a silver medal. Also, in the discus throw among girls for East Kazakhstan, Erica Kem won the gold medal. As last year, this athlete managed to take a leading position and improve the result (it was 33.89 m: it became 35.86 m). Among women from the East Kazakhstan region, the sector has entered Tatiana Romanova. She had to compete with the strongest Diana Nusupbekova and Ekaterina Nesterova. The result of our athlete – 39.82 m – is the third place. This year, our team has two prizes in the half marathon. The first is from one of the fastest Kazakhstani long-distance runners Andrey Leimenov – 1:07.52, and Amir Baytukanov won the bronze medal – 1:08.51. As for last year’s start, then Leimenov missed the competition while preparing for the half marathon in Prague. Baitukanov has been in third place for the second year. On April 20-21, the East Kazakhstan Region Athletics Championship was held among juniors born in 1999-2000, senior boys and girls born in 2001-2002, junior boys and girls born in 2003-2004 dedicated to the memory of Natalia Khodaeva. Despite the fact that it is warm outside, athletes participating in the long jump, high jump, pole vault and triple competed at the athletics center. Let’s start with the guys. High jump The juniors born in 1999-2000 have changed both the number of participants and the results. At this start, they passed Akylzhan ahead, continuing to compete for second place. The fight ended with the same result of 180 cm, and this time Vladislav won by the number of attempts – 1:1. As for the younger boys, Alisher Kaliyev managed to perform in the high jump for the second time this year. Compared to the previous start, this one became less successful (it was 135 cm; it became 130 cm). Since there are only two participants in this age group – Kaliev and his countryman from Ust-Kamenogorsk Vyacheslav Alpatov, there was a clear struggle for the first place. Alpatov managed to beat his opponent with a score of 135 cm. Pole vaulting The composition of the participants in this form is far from great. As at the winter championship of East Kazakhstan Region, the best among the older and younger boys managed to remain brothers – jumpers Nursultan and Elnur Zhumabekov with the same result – 3.70 m. Long Jump The first among juniors was Eduard Gorst from Semey with a score of 6.11 m. By the way, at the previous competition for the title of East Kazakhstan Region champion, he lost to Vasily Borisevich, showing a result of 6 m. Pavel Kukin: “Competitive practice pays off”
The program included throwing disciplines: javelin, discus and hammer. It’s no secret that the East Kazakhstan region is famous for the most productive athletes in these types of athletics. Hammer throwing competitions were held yesterday afternoon, where Anastasia Kaloshina, one of the strongest throwers in Kazakhstan, took part. The girl has fulfilled the standard that will allow her to participate in the Asian Qualification Championship for selection for the Youth Olympic Games. Next to her, at the competition, was the athlete’s personal trainer Pavel Ivanovich Kukin, who shared what was happening in Almaty. – We are pleased with our result. Pavel Kukin commented on the performance. – Actually, we were already ready for it. Nastya had already shown similar results in training, but the main thing was to perform them during the competition. Despite the fact that there is not so much competitive practice, it is not always possible to give such a result, but nevertheless it turned out to show similar ones. In April, at the East Kazakhstan Region championship on April 20-21, Kaloshina showed a result of 55.55 m, at these – 55.25 m. Even it is very difficult to mentally tune in to the start, but this time the athlete quickly pulled herself together, and the throwing sector in Almaty is very convenient, which cannot be said about Shymkent, from where athletes have recently arrived. – Competitive practice is bearing fruit, – Pavel noted. – We have already scattered, we are used to competitive stress, and Nastya finds it easier to get ready for the start every time. This time she felt most comfortable, from the initial attempt to the very end she added results. The experience comes. We manage to implement it the way we planned it. According to the coach, such a good result is not the limit, but there are certain points of technique that need to be worked hard on, bringing them to perfection. The preparation continues, the athlete is physically ready, only work on the technique remains. Anastasia’s next start is scheduled for early July in Bangkok – the Asian Qualifying Championship.
