Olga Rypakova: “This happened to me for the first time”

The 17th World Indoor Athletics Championships will be held in Birmingham in early March. It was during these terms that the strongest athlete in the triple jump was invited to the award ceremony, where a bronze award from ten years ago will be presented. Olga Rypakova herself shared her impressions of this news and told about her future plans, since the athlete is currently at training camps in Thailand. – Olga, tell us what emotions are you experiencing? After all, the situation can be viewed from two sides: on the one hand, the reward, on the other, the circumstances. – Actually, there are no emotions. Ten years have passed, and in connection with such circumstances, according to the rules, it is simply necessary to transfer the medal to another participant. So much time has passed, I don’t even remember exactly how everything went (smiles). Feelings of joy and delight, to be honest, are not felt. I believe that this should be done in hot pursuit. – Have there been similar cases during your sports career, or is this the first time? – This is the first time with me when a medal passes to me from another athlete. – Let’s still be nostalgic. Tell us about that start, because then it hasn’t been long since you started competing in the triple jump? – I was pleased with my result – 14.58 m. Yes, it hasn’t been long. In the summer of 2007, I tried my hand at the triple jump for the first time, immediately fulfilling the standard for the World Championships in Valencia. We went to Spain without thinking at all about prizes and high results, as I understood that I would have to jump in the same sector with the most famous athletes in the triple jump. I just needed to gain experience in this form. If I’m not mistaken, I qualified in last place, with the eighth result – it was a great achievement for me. In the main competitions, I just tried to jump, for me it was training. I didn’t count on anything and was pleasantly surprised that I beat many experienced track and field athletes and received a wooden medal (laughs). – You learned about this news quite recently, and now you are at the training camp in Thailand. As far as we know, the issue of your departure has not yet been resolved. Have you decided now and what are your future plans? – Yes, we had difficulties with the trip to Birmingham. Unfortunately, I will not be able to go, as I do not have a British visa. I received an official invitation from the organizers of the competition on the evening of the nineteenth of February.  Moreover, I arrive from the training camp on February 28, and the championship starts the next day and I would not have had time to physically arrive. – In any case, no matter what the reward is and no matter how it gets, it is the result of your hard work and efforts. We congratulate you once again and wish you a productive training camp! – Thank you very much! Inna Semenyak A source: flavko.kz

Anastasia Mavrina and Margarita Gavrikova are the winners of the Winter Triathlon Championship

The Winter Indoor Triathlon Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in Astana from February 22 to 24. Recall that the first branch in Ust-Kamenogorsk, opened on the basis of East Kazakhstan Region SDYUSSHOR, was opened recently, but is already steadily gaining momentum. On the first day, the participants competed in swimming, the second day was dedicated to cycling, and on the final day, the athletes competed in running. Athletes from the East Kazakhstan region were able to win two prizes: Anastasia Mavrina from Ust-Kamenogorsk took bronze in the F-Elite category, and Margarita Garikova, who performs in the F-U17 category, took first place. The girl was able to correctly distribute her forces into all three disciplines, which allowed her to become the best and climb to the first step of the podium. The next launch will take place in Taraz for the Elite category in April. The Kazakhstan Triathlon Federation is expanding the geography of the starts on the map of our homeland. Danial Akhmetov was elected President of the Athletics Federation of Kazakhstan

blank

Danial Akhmetov became the new president of the Athletics Federation of Kazakhstan. This is the decision of the extraordinary conference held in Astana today, March 16. The reason for convening the conference was that Adilbek Dzhaksybekov, who headed the Republican Athletics Federation, was elected president of the Football Federation of Kazakhstan in February. The new head of the athletics Federation became Danial Akhmetov. – Conceptually, we will move in several main directions, – said Danial Akhmetov. – We will develop the infrastructure. Let’s start with the regions where athletics has received the greatest development in our country. Another key issue is the preparation of the reserve.   I plan to meet with the heads of the regions, talk with them about the creation of specialized athletics departments, or about the creation of sports schools. Because if there is no mass movement, there will be no children, then it is useless to talk about the future.  As for top-level sports, last year a professional athletics club “Altai Athletics” was established in the East Kazakhstan region, with decent funding and all conditions for the growth of skills. It will be an elite club. Strict criteria should also be applied when forming the national team. And the base for it should be the national team No. 2, which will include young athletes, they are the reserve of our leaders. An equally important issue is the coaching staff. Any talent can disappear with a low qualification of a coach….. I want to thank everyone for electing me as the head of the federation. We will work together to make the country proud of Kazakhstani athletes. Danial Akhmetov is the first head of the East Kazakhstan region. Last year, he was elected to the Republican Athletics Federation and headed the regional federation. The first professional athletics club, Alyay athletics, was established in this region. The former head of the federation, Adilbek Dzhaksybekov, will continue to participate in its work as a member of the executive committee. A good start

The last days of the outgoing March were remembered by our athletes as a bright “first step” in this season. After all, not all athletes could perform in their signature sports during the winter competitions. While some have been performing at the Olga Rypakova Athletics Center since the beginning of January, others have meanwhile been getting in shape in the throwing sectors and at training camps in other countries. East Kazakhstan residents brought more than ten awards from warm Shymkent. As expected, the first places in the javelin throw will be taken by the record holders of Kazakhstan Varvara Nazarova and Arthur Gafner. If we compare their performances with last year, the changes are noticeably visible. The best javelin thrower of Kazakhstan in 2017 She showed a result of 47.57 m, leaving behind five competitors, among whom is the same silver medalist of this start, Asia Rabayeva from the Mangystau region, and with her fellow countryman Nadezhda Kirnos – 31.90 m (third place). This year Nazarova added 71 cm – 48.28 m. Gafner, in turn, also remains the leader among javelin throwers, but with a different result. Last year’s best attempt in this competition was 63.54 m, this year the athlete sent a javelin to 53.41. But this result was enough for Arthur to become the first. By the way, another athlete from East Kazakhstan Region, Erbol Kalenov, did not go far – third place – 51.78 m. Another stable leader in this annual competition is Anastasia Kaloshina in the hammer throw. Her results are getting higher every year, which confirms her intense training and desire to win. Last year, our thrower had more competition – six people entered the sector with her. Kaloshina became the best with a result of 49.18 m, in second place was Yulia Popkova from North Kazakhstan region, whom Anastasia beat by nine meters. This year, only Kaloshina and Svetlana Ionova from the Karaganda region competed in their age group, the difference in the results was 20.9 m (Kaloshina – 53.14 m; Ionova – 32.24 m). Dmitry Lukichev brought two medals in the discus throw and hammer throw to East Kazakhstan Region at once. In fact, this discipline is “golden” for our athletes, because in addition to Lukichev in this form, in the older age group, three athletes from East Kazakhstan Region – Vladimir Torlopov, Oleg Lyubimov and Alexey Vladimirov – took the entire podium at once in exactly this order. Dmitry finished the hammer throw competition with a score of 39.77 m (first place) – this is 18 cm more than last year. But in the discus throw, the athlete’s result showed weaker than in 2017 (it was 39.94 m; it became 39.24 m), but the paradox is that this time he was able to bring a silver medal. Also, in the discus throw among girls for East Kazakhstan, Erica Kem won the gold medal. As last year, this athlete managed to take a leading position and improve the result (it was 33.89 m: it became 35.86 m). Among women from the East Kazakhstan region, the sector has entered Tatiana Romanova. She had to compete with the strongest Diana Nusupbekova and Ekaterina Nesterova. The result of our athlete – 39.82 m – is the third place. This year, our team has two prizes in the half marathon. The first is from one of the fastest Kazakhstani long-distance runners Andrey Leimenov – 1:07.52, and Amir Baytukanov won the bronze medal – 1:08.51. As for last year’s start, then Leimenov missed the competition while preparing for the half marathon in Prague. Baitukanov has been in third place for the second year. Only the result changes – it has been improved. Last year, the distance was covered in 1:10:40.5. In other conditions

On April 20-21, the East Kazakhstan Region Athletics Championship was held among juniors born in 1999-2000, senior boys and girls born in 2001-2002, junior boys and girls born in 2003-2004 dedicated to the memory of Natalia Khodaeva. It’s much warmer outside, which means it’s time to go out on the outdoor treadmills and compete outdoors. The championship of the East Kazakhstan region has recently ended, which was launched at the Vostok stadium, at the Olympian sports complex and, of course, at the Olga Rypakova athletics center. The previous championship of our region was held on February 8-9 in the Ustkamenogorsk arena, then, unlike these starts, the program did not include 100, 110, 300 and 400 m hurdles, as well as throwing types: discus, hammer and spear. We will learn more about how the competitions were held and what results the East Kazakhstan residents showed. Despite the fact that it is warm outside, athletes participating in the long jump, high jump, pole vault and triple competed at the athletics center. Let’s start with the guys. High jump The juniors born in 1999-2000 have changed both the number of participants and the results. Compete with an athlete Grigory Ermolov has arrived Ivan Semenov from Semey, who became the new East Kazakhstan Region champion in the high jump. Ermolov competed with himself in February, and this is much more difficult (it was 170 cm; it became 165 cm). In fact, if the athlete had managed to repeat the jump, it would have made little difference, since Semenov conquered the bar at a height of 175 cm. The older boys have three winners Toktagalin – Olenich – Bakhtin has changed places since the previous regional championship, changing its results. Akylzhan Toktagalin remained steadfastly in the first place (it was 185 cm; it became 184 cm). But the situation between Sergei Olenich and Vladislav Bakhtin is much more interesting. As last time, the guys, together with the leader, overcame the bar at a height of 185 cm, but Sergey became the owner of the “silver”, showing a jump ahead of the opponent. At this start, they passed Akylzhan ahead, continuing to compete for second place. The fight ended with the same result of 180 cm, and this time Vladislav won by the number of attempts – 1:1. As for the younger boys, Alisher Kaliyev managed to perform in the high jump for the second time this year. Compared to the previous start, this one became less successful (it was 135 cm; it became 130 cm). Since there are only two participants in this age group – Kaliev and his countryman from Ust-Kamenogorsk Vyacheslav Alpatov, there was a clear struggle for the first place. Alpatov managed to beat his opponent with a score of 135 cm. Pole vaulting The composition of the participants in this form is far from great. As at the winter championship of East Kazakhstan Region, the best among the older and younger boys managed to remain brothers – jumpers Nursultan and Elnur Zhumabekov with the same result – 3.70 m. Long Jump The first among juniors was Eduard Gorst from Semey with a score of 6.11 m. By the way, at the previous competition for the title of East Kazakhstan Region champion, he lost to Vasily Borisevich, showing a result of 6 m. This time he killed two birds with one stone – and improved the result, and took the first place. If an athlete from Ust-Kamenogorsk Alexander Raev repeated the jump that he showed in February, the first place would have been secured for him (it was 5.73 m, it became 5.58 m). Thirteen more athletes from East Kazakhstan competed with the young man, and only a namesake family member managed to beat him. Alexander Lepekhin with a score of 5.63 m. The youngest participants from the previous competitions had only the leader – Rauan Bakhtybayev from Semey (it was 5.22 m, it became 5.38 m), the rest of the team underwent changes. Together with Rauan, Ernur Savetkhanov, Madiyar Myrzagaliyev and Vyacheslav Alpatov entered the jumping sector (occupied places in the order of enumeration). _______ Since the Olga Rypakova athletics arena allows athletes to compete in the shot put all year round, for athletes, going outdoors on the territory of the Olympian sports complex has become a challenge for themselves. Shot put, discus and hammer throw What has remained unchanged is the position of Ustkamenogorsk boys in the final protocol among senior and junior boys in the shot put. Dmitry Lukichev (13.45 m) and Sergey Krasheninnikov (12.62 m) managed to stay in first place. The athletes did not stop there and also won leading positions in discus throwing. Dmitry Lukichev took the third gold of the East Kazakhstan Region championship in the hammer throw with a score of 49.05 m. Javelin throwing When the word “spear” is pronounced in the East Kazakhstan region, then athletics fans may involuntarily have associations with the surname Gafner, well, or Nazarova. All this is not accidental. In addition to our Kazakhstan record holders, they are being replaced by an athlete named Erwin, by the way, is also a Hafner. Among the older boys and even juniors, his result was the best – 45.35 m. Who knows what the future holds for us, but there is no doubt that the era of the Hafners has come to javelin throwing. Hurdling 110 m s/b Ramiz Kartaev from Ust-Kamenogorsk finished in the juniors with a clear margin of 10 seconds, leaving behind Kokpetinsky runner Alisher Suleizhanov (26.56 seconds). But among the older boys, Alexander Lepekhin literally snatched the first place from Roman Grigoriev, because the time difference was only 0.2 seconds. Younger boys have much smoother results compared to the results of older comrades. Andrey Ignatikov (16.72 s) crossed the finish line, ahead of Elnur Zhumabekov by exactly 2 seconds. 300 m s/w Six athletes entered the race among the younger boys born in 2003-2004, five of whom are Ustkamenogorets. From the first to the third place on the account of the “hosts”. Ignatikov won his second prize (43.17 s),
