Six sets of awards were awarded in the morning program of the second competition day of the XXIX Gusman Kosanov Memorial. Half of the gold medals went to representatives of Kazakhstan. POLE VAULT In this discipline, as in women’s, the gold medal was guaranteed to Kazakhstan due to the absence of foreign athletes in the application for participation. But the “zaruba” between Daniil Polyansky and Ivan Tovchenik turned out well! It was Tovchenik who took 5.2 m first, for which he needed two attempts. “Bronze” medalist AltayJumpingParty Polyansky performed the first two attempts unsuccessfully, but in the final third jump he still took this height, being on the verge of failure. And then, with joy, he also overcame 5.3 m, ensuring victory for himself. Men (4 participants): 1. Daniil POLYANSKY (Kazakhstan) – 5.30 2. Ivan TOVCHENIK (Kazakhstan) – 5,20 TRIPLE JUMP The men’s triple jump in Kazakhstan is in a terrible crisis, so there were no special hopes for getting into the prizes. It remained only to enjoy how, one after another, the Indian magicians Zuber and Salahuddin churned out attempts for 16 m. Men (8 participants): 1. Shafrutdin Nizamuddin Mohammed Salahuddin (India) – 16.64 2. Mohd Zuber (India) – 16.21 3. Dmitry Pupko (Uzbekistan) – 15.56 …5. Nikita KORNYSHEV (Kazakhstan) – 15.18 Despite the fact that Irina Ektova won this tournament, today I want to talk only about Laura Akhmetova. In the fourth attempt, this junior from Almaty showed a result of 13.24 m, and improved her personal record by 14 cm at once, only slightly falling short of the standard of the Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan! In general, 2019 is still turning out to be a breakthrough year for Laura, because she set the previous personal best at the Spartakiad of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the end of May. Girls (7 participants): 1. Irina EKTOVA (Kazakhstan) – 13.45 2. Laura AKHMETOVA (Kazakhstan) – 13.24 3. Sabrina Zralova (Azerbaijan) – 12.88   JAVELIN THROWING Kazakhstan did not have enough East Kazakhstan Arthur Gafner, the country’s record holder among juniors. Of course, he had not sent a projectile over the 70 m mark for a long time, and in recent years he had to throw with his left hand instead of the “shock” right. But why not have a breakthrough right here and now? The Indians also managed to hold a kind of master class here, taking the first two places with a result that no one in Kazakhstan has shown for a long time. Men (6 participants): 1. Silva Sahil (India) – 77.40 2. Yadav Rohit (India) – 75.36 3. Bobur Shokirjdonov (Uzbekistan) – 73.59 …5. Alexander LYSENKO (Kazakhstan) – 53.27 Varvara Nazarova took part in the competition, but completed only one attempt, and even that one had a spade. The Ust-Kamenogorsk thrower did not come out for the next five attempts. Girls (2 participants): 1. Nargiza Kuchakarova (Uzbekistan) – 52.78 HIGH JUMP Here, three Kazakhstani jumpers were opposed by only one guest from Iran. The Iranian athlete managed to jump over only our young all-around athlete Adina Makhsutova, but the athletes of the professional athletics club Altai Athletics were again at their best, both literally and figuratively! Elizaveta Matveeva took revenge from Ovchinnikova for her defeat in the Kazakhstan Cup a week earlier. Although in general she was close to failure – she took 180 cm only on the third attempt! But then she effortlessly overcame the 182 cm bar, showing the second result in her career. She jumped higher only at the Thai Open, where she set a personal best of 184 cm. By the way, as part of the Kosanov memorial, she tried to repeat her personal best again, but this time it failed. Women (4 participants): 1. Elizaveta MATVEEVA (Kazakhstan, East Kazakhstan Region, Altai Athletics) – 1.82 2. Kristina OVCHINNIKOVA (Kazakhstan, Altai Athletics) – 1.80 3. Eileen Babaki (Iran) – 1.75 A source: vksport.kz

Congratulations to Elizaveta Matveevna and Ekaterina Efremova!

Congratulations to Elizaveta Matveeva on her victory in the high jump, as well as Ekaterina Efremova on winning third place in the 400 m hurdles at the International Competitions “XXIX – Memorial in Memory of Gusman Kosanov”. Having lost to her own personal record of 2 cm, nevertheless, Elizabeth was able to climb the main step of the podium with a result of 182 cm. Ekaterina Efremova won the bronze medal with a score of 1.03:92. Congratulations to the athletes and coaches with excellent results!

Amir Baitukanov took 3rd place at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization International Marathon

Last weekend, on December 1, the fourth International Marathon of the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) was held in the South-West of China in the city of Kunming, where two Kazakhstani athletes Mikhail Krasilov and Amir Baitukanov performed. The competitions within the framework of the sports event were held in the following types: Full marathon — 5,107 professional runners started; Half marathon — 6304 people; 5,393 people took part in the “healthy race”; The “Family run” gathered 3,123 people. Mikhail Krasilov started at the 21 km half marathon, but left the track during the race. Amir Baitukanov managed to overcome his marathon route more successfully and become the third among athletes from the SCO member states. Excellent student

The Athletics Federation of Kazakhstan continues to work on improving the skills of its employees. Athletics is not only about athletes, but also those who contribute to competitions through their work. In particular, the judicial corps. The chairman of the judging panel, Olga Ustyantseva (pictured in the bottom row, second from the right), recently completed a training course in Kyrgyzstan. Lectures of the first level of TOECS (the IAAF system, whose task is to train judges of three levels: national, continental and world) for sports judges were delivered from December 4 to 8 in Bishkek, the capital of our southern neighbors. Olga Ustyantseva, who turned out to be a real excellent student, was honored to be invited from Kazakhstan. After the lectures, all participants took an exam in which a specialist from Ust-Kamenogorsk scored 97 points out of 100 possible! No participant of the event showed the best result at all! – Participation in this course was useful both from a purely practical point of view and from the point of view of improving the quality of refereeing, – Olga explains in an interview with our correspondent. – This course of lectures was of the first level. This means that I have now been recognized at the IAAF level as an arbitrator who has the right to serve national-level competitions and international events taking place in our country. Of course, this does not mean that I could not work for them before, because Kazakhstan has its own training system. But it was important to take this course, because only judges who have passed this level have the right to apply for entry to the second level – continental. Studying on a continental and global level requires serious knowledge of English, which I am currently actively learning. The exam consisted of three parts – a practical one, where the judges demonstrated their acquired skills directly at the stadium, an oral one with ticket pulling, and a written one, which lasted for two hours. According to Ustyantseva, she did not learn a lot of new things during the courses, but the depth of knowledge improved due to a more thorough study of some nuances of situations that may arise directly at competitions. – But the most important thing is that I now have a lecturer’s certificate, which I received in October at a course in Uzbekistan, and now I can conduct similar lecture courses for our arbitrators directly in Kazakhstan. A striking example is in Kyrgyzstan, this course was taught to us by a woman who received a lecturer’s certificate with me in October in Uzbekistan. You can apply to the IAAF, we will be given a permit, I will conduct it, and we will issue certificates.  We have already planned that we will absolutely hold lectures for our judges at each championship, with an emphasis on such precise nuances of judicial skill.
