How can you not become a romantic after that?

The international pole vault tournament II “Altay Jumping Party” ended in Ust-Kamenogorsk, which turned out to be incredibly rich in intrigue. The organizers and athletes presented the gathered Ust-Kamenogorsk residents with an incredible show, which had everything: driving music, a waterfall of emotions, the intervention of the weather, the collapse of the favorite and the triumph of the “dark horse”. Pole vaulting is held in Ust-Kamenogorsk for the second year in a row on the central site of the main city of East Kazakhstan region. This is one of the few opportunities for citizens to see the most technically difficult sport in all its glory, and Ust–Kamenogorsk residents took advantage of this opportunity. The athletes had to share the square with street dancers, so there were a lot of spectators in this geographical location. This turned out to be in everyone’s favor: people simply “wandered” from one site to another, having the opportunity to choose a spectacle to their liking. And it’s very nice that many people chose pole vaulting. It was especially gratifying to see the little ones, who looked with enthusiastic eyes at how powerful uncles suddenly turned out to be stronger than the force of gravity and soared to an incredible height and fell with pleasure on soft mats. By the way, as last year, the organizers from the Athletics Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the East Kazakhstan regional Federation of this sport made a separate surprise for the audience: after each successful attempt, the distinguished athlete threw a souvenir T-shirt into the stands. However, free water was also distributed to the fans, because it was hot, and various kinds of souvenirs, which it was simply unsafe to throw into the crowd. You’re not going to throw a ceramic mug at people, are you? However, everything was fine with the sports part itself, too. There was also a very serious intrigue in the form of a confrontation between last year’s winner Vyacheslav Chamarmazovich from Belarus and Sergei Grigoriev from Almaty, who became the second last year. Plus, everyone was waiting for a storm of emotions from the Turkish athlete Aldemir Ilkai, who became the decoration of last year’s “jumping party”. Almost simultaneously with the start of the tournament, losses among the speakers began. The young Almaty resident Ivan Khristenko failed to cope with the starting height, but the most shocking event was the early “withdrawal from the race” of the current winner of the tournament Vyacheslav Chamarmazovich, who also failed to cope with the starting declared height! Who would have thought that such a thing could happen? The wind blowing through the square made itself felt, and the following losses in the composition of the participants could not be avoided at early heights. Alas, Aldemir Ilkay did not feel at ease, who had to be content with the result in 5 m, and Igor Bychkov, the finalist of the Olympic Games in London, who plays for Spain, stopped at the same bar. But there is a silver lining – due to the loss of favorites, we find a completely unexpected leader, who became the incredible Ivan Tovchenik! That’s who felt like a master in Ust-Kamenogorsk! From the first attempts, he took the first two heights, and then completely made a good “bid” for victory, overcoming 5.10 m, which, against the background of the problems of other athletes, looked like a good result. Moreover, the wind, which intensified before the rain, could confuse all the cards for potential leaders. Tovchenik, alas, could not cope with the role of leader to the end, and 5.2 m did not submit to him. But he could well count on third place, because besides him, only Daniil Polyansky and Ivan Eremin remained in the sector at that time. Well, Sergei Grigoriev, who did not appear on the platform, declared such a height that it would be fitting to call him a real impudent man – 5.40 m. With this result, he finished his performance at the victorious Spartakiad of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty a week ago, and then decided to just start from it! So there was no guarantee that Grigoriev would be able to handle such an application. Tovchenik was eventually bypassed by both Polyansky and Eremin, and the Ukrainian athlete took this milestone on the first attempt, and Daniil – on the third. Both could not cope with 5.3 m, after which the moment came for the most important intrigue: all or nothing! It was under this slogan that Sergei Grigoriev came to the platform. If he takes 5.40 m, he becomes a champion, if he does not take it, he turns out to be completely out of the table of ranks, since he would have remained without a result at all. And then a rain cloud completely covered Ust-Kamenogorsk and the central square, adding gusts of wind. And the first two attempts by Grigoriev, who was supported by absolutely everyone with incredible strength, turned out to be extremely bad. They weren’t even close to what could be called attempts at all. Sad thoughts appeared in my head by themselves. But how great is Grigoriev, if he did not let these thoughts appear in his own head, and completely knocked them out of the heads of all those gathered with his simply inhuman third attempt! To say that the height was taken is to say nothing! It is simply impossible to convey in words what ecstasy the audience experienced, and respectable coaches just started jumping from an infrequently experienced feeling of some kind of childish joy! According to the law of literature, if a gun appears at the beginning of a play, then it must fire at the end. The “gun” in the form of Grigoriev appeared at the athletes’ presentation ceremony, and “fired” at the very end! Well, how can you not become a romantic in athletics after that? II ALTAY JUMPING PARTY Men (9 participants): 1. Sergey GRIGORIEV (Kazakhstan, Almaty) – 5.40 2.

Kazakhstan Athletics Cup has ended in Almaty

blank

Despite the small number of participants, the Kazakhstan Cup gave us many unforgettable moments of a serious, sometimes fierce struggle for medals with falls, injuries and unexpected results. Gradually, throughout the day, we will fill this material with new results and facts, so do not “switch”! FIRST RACE DAY 100 M RUN; A real sensation among men was the entry of Andrei Lavrushenko into the top three strongest. The 18-year-old young man from East Kazakhstan region was not even theoretically close to the top three leaders in the initial contributions of specialists. During the lifetime of Volodin, Casper, Rusaka and Sutzhanov, he did not become a prize-winner. However, in the preliminary competitions, Lavrushenko showed that it was possible to fight Volodin. An experienced representative of the Almaty region, who is 17 years older than our teenager (!), Bypassed Andrew only in “grids”. In the final, the main favorite of the tournament, the capital’s Alexander Casper, decided not to perform, but to get to the prize-winners, it was necessary to bypass the same Volodin. The start was held with a slight counterwind, so all athletes, except for Sergei Rusak, worsened their results in comparison with the preliminary run. In such conditions, the one who resists the elements better and loses less speed was superior. Sutzhanov and Rusak showed incredible speed, and the difference between them was so microscopic that from a distance the two athletes could be mistaken for Siamese twins! As a result, Photofinish gave the victory to Sutzhanov. The third place was taken by Andrei Lavrushenko, who overtook Volodin. The East Kazakhstan man himself was so surprised that he accidentally got the appropriate voice! Congratulations to Andrew on his first medal success at the adult level! Men (16 participants): 1. Damil Sutzhanov (Pavlodar region) – 10.82 2. Sergey Rusak (Pavlodar region) – 10.84 3. Andrey LAVRUSHENKO (East Kazakhstan region) – 11.33 Roxana Ospanova consolidated the dominance of athletes from Pavlodar region in the sprint. As with men, in the dispute between Ospanova and Tkachenko, we had to turn to Photofinish to find out who was the winner of the cup. By the way, Roxana showed in the final the result that Tkachenko showed in the preliminary round. Girls (9 participants): 1. Roxana Ospanova (Pavlodar region) – 12.47 2. Yulia Tkachenko (Nur-Sultan) – 12.50 3. Yulia Sutzhanova (Pavlodar region) – 12.65 400 M RUN Mikhail Litvin, an employee of the Altai Athletics Club, has long been registered in the first place of the podium of honor at this distance, this time he preferred to perform at twice as short distances so that the place of the winner was free. He was captured by ELNOR Mukhitdinov, who was the only person who could run according to the KMS standard. Efim Tarasov was very lacking here. Our amazing young man could become the winner of the Kazakhstan Cup for the first time in his career, while being nine years younger than Mukhitdinov! However, the highest results are not due to the nervousness before the last run. Athletes had to get up on the pads four times: the technique did not work, the false start was fixed. Thus, Kadyr Zhalgas and Dmitry Shmyga lost the opportunity to win medals. However, for Mukhitdinov himself, this gold medal, in fact, can be equal to the weight of gold for any result, because lately it is almost impossible to win something at this distance! If Litvin is not among the participants, then there will definitely be Andrei Sokolov, and in his absence he can fight for victory and Efim Tarasov. So elnor took full advantage of his chance to win! Men (7 participants): 1. Elnor Mukhitdinov (Shymkent) – 48.55 2. Alexander Bezrukov (Pavlodar region) – 49.78 3. Odyssey Venetikidi (Shymkent) – 50.91 Shymkent residents increased the availability of Pavlodar region and won both “gold” in one form or another. Aidana Tursun won a very difficult fight, although the number of participants was not large. Women (3 plots): 1. Aidana Tursun (Shymkent) – 58.24 2. Irina Parshkova (Pavlodar region) – 59.44 3. Six sets of awards were awarded in the morning program of the second competition day of the XXIX Gusman Kosanov Memorial. Half of the gold medals went to representatives of Kazakhstan. POLE VAULT In this discipline, as in women’s, the gold medal was guaranteed to Kazakhstan due to the absence of foreign athletes in the application for participation. But the “zaruba” between Daniil Polyansky and Ivan Tovchenik turned out well! It was Tovchenik who took 5.2 m first, for which he needed two attempts. “Bronze” medalist AltayJumpingParty Polyansky performed the first two attempts unsuccessfully, but in the final third jump he still took this height, being on the verge of failure. And then, with joy, he also overcame 5.3 m, ensuring victory for himself. Men (4 participants): 1. Daniil POLYANSKY (Kazakhstan) – 5.30 2. Ivan TOVCHENIK (Kazakhstan) – 5,20 TRIPLE JUMP The men’s triple jump in Kazakhstan is in a terrible crisis, so there were no special hopes for getting into the prizes. It remained only to enjoy how, one after another, the Indian magicians Zuber and Salahuddin churned out attempts for 16 m. Men (8 participants): 1. Shafrutdin Nizamuddin Mohammed Salahuddin (India) – 16.64 2. Mohd Zuber (India) – 16.21 3. Dmitry Pupko (Uzbekistan) – 15.56 …5. Nikita KORNYSHEV (Kazakhstan) – 15.18 Despite the fact that Irina Ektova won this tournament, today I want to talk only about Laura Akhmetova. In the fourth attempt, this junior from Almaty showed a result of 13.24 m, and improved her personal record by 14 cm at once, only slightly falling short of the standard of the Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan! In general, 2019 is still turning out to be a breakthrough year for Laura, because she set the previous personal best at the Spartakiad of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the end of May. Girls (7 participants): 1. Irina EKTOVA (Kazakhstan) – 13.45 2. Laura AKHMETOVA (Kazakhstan) – 13.24 3. Sabrina Zralova (Azerbaijan) – 12.88   JAVELIN THROWING Kazakhstan did not have enough East Kazakhstan Arthur Gafner, the country’s record holder among juniors. Of course, he had not sent a projectile over the 70 m mark for a long time, and in recent years he had to throw with his left hand instead of the “shock” right. But why not have a breakthrough right here and now? The Indians also managed to hold a kind of master class here, taking the first two places with a result that no one in Kazakhstan has shown for a long time. Men (6 participants): 1. Silva Sahil (India) – 77.40 2. Yadav Rohit (India) – 75.36 3. Bobur Shokirjdonov (Uzbekistan) – 73.59 …5. Alexander LYSENKO (Kazakhstan) – 53.27 Varvara Nazarova took part in the competition, but completed only one attempt, and even that one had a spade. The Ust-Kamenogorsk thrower did not come out for the next five attempts. Girls (2 participants): 1. Nargiza Kuchakarova (Uzbekistan) – 52.78 HIGH JUMP Here, three Kazakhstani jumpers were opposed by only one guest from Iran. The Iranian athlete managed to jump over only our young all-around athlete Adina Makhsutova, but the athletes of the professional athletics club Altai Athletics were again at their best, both literally and figuratively! Elizaveta Matveeva took revenge from Ovchinnikova for her defeat in the Kazakhstan Cup a week earlier. Although in general she was close to failure – she took 180 cm only on the third attempt! But then she effortlessly overcame the 182 cm bar, showing the second result in her career. She jumped higher only at the Thai Open, where she set a personal best of 184 cm. By the way, as part of the Kosanov memorial, she tried to repeat her personal best again, but this time it failed. Women (4 participants): 1. Elizaveta MATVEEVA (Kazakhstan, East Kazakhstan Region, Altai Athletics) – 1.82 2. Kristina OVCHINNIKOVA (Kazakhstan, Altai Athletics) – 1.80 3. Eileen Babaki (Iran) – 1.75 A source: vksport.kz
