The first day of the tournament began in the morning with the 100m and 400m races for women and men. As a result, the best received tickets to the finals. The opening ceremony of the 31st Gusman Kosanov International Memorial was held at the Central Stadium. The tournament was officially opened by the First Vice-President of the Asian Athletics Association Surapong Ariyamongkol, Olympic Games winner Olga Rypakova, Secretary General of the Athletics Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askhat Seisembek. The tournament officially opened with the women’s triple jump. In a hard-fought fight, the champion of Kazakhstan, Maria Efremova, won the memorial gold medal with a score of 14.01. The second on the podium was the representative of Azerbaijan Ekaterina Sarieva with a score of 13.81, the third was the athlete of Uzbekistan Sharifa Davronova with a score of 13.80. Olga Safronova brought the next gold medal to the piggy bank. She crossed the finish line in the 100m with a score of 11.40. Nora Jeruto has won!

Nora Jeruto brought the long-awaited gold medal to Kazakhstan at the World Championships. The runner won, maintaining the lead throughout the entire distance and won the 3000 meters steeplechase with a score of 8:53.02. Nora Jeruto, originally from Kenya, began competing for Kazakhstan in 2018. This is the first gold medal at the World Athletics Championships for Kazakhstan. Congratulations!!!
