A shot putter from the Almaty region confidently won the Kazakhstan Athletics Championship.

On the opening day of the Kazakhstan Athletics Championships in Almaty, the strongest in the shot put for women and men were determined. In men’s competitions, Ivan Ivanov was the undisputed leader in this discipline. Unlike the May Cup of Kazakhstan, Ivanov had more rivals at the national championship, which did not affect his performance in any way. Having pushed the projectile 20 meters exactly in the best attempt, Ivanov became the champion of Kazakhstan. His closest pursuer Damir Kasainov from the East Kazakhstan region was almost five meters behind Ivanov, and bronze medalist Dmitry Zozulya from Kostanay was seven meters behind. – I feel great, everything worked out great for me, good competitions. I was preparing for the championship at home, 20 meters is an excellent result. Last year I had a score of 20.51, so this is my second best result in my career. There were prerequisites already in training that I was ready to show such a result. I pushed, as always, I came out, I didn’t believe what I did, how I did it, the best attempts are not remembered. You just feel it, and only then it lets go, you start to feel tired. Now I will prepare for the Kosanov Memorial, where I definitely need to perform, these are international competitions. Then there will be the Asian Championship and the World University Games,” Ivanov said after his speech. She won the women’s shot put Ekaterina Nesterova from Karaganda region. In the best attempt, she showed a result of 13.32 meters and was ahead Maria Telushkina from Almaty, who, however, specializes more in discus throwing. Asia Rabayeva, a representative of the Mangystau region, took the third place. A total of 13 athletes competed for medals in this discipline. Kazakhstan Athletics Championship. June 12th. Gusarov and Ryzhikova are the champions of Kazakhstan in the 1500 meters

A representative company consisting of 27 seven people came to the start for the men. Alexey Gusarov from Almaty was the first to cross the finish line, three seconds ahead of Sergey Ershov from the East Kazakhstan region. Gusarov and Ershov are the only ones of all the participants who were able to run out of four minutes. Bibol Serikov from Astana rounded out the top three winners. The women’s 1,500-meter race could have ended quite dramatically. Ten athletes competed for victory here, so the fight was much tighter. She was in the lead for most of the distance Victoria Ryzhikova is from the North Kazakhstan region, but in the last meters to the finish line, Evgenia Fandyushina from the Pavlodar region began to catch up with her. If the distance turned out to be another 500 meters longer than Fandyushin, she would most likely have overtaken her opponent. But Ryzhikova managed to endure and cross the finish line first. The third place was taken by another athlete from the North Kazakhstan region, Victoria Sergeeva. Kazakhstan Athletics Championship. June 12th. Almaty, Tsentralny Stadium. Running, 1500 meters. In the final form of the first day of the championship of Kazakhstan – the 10–kilometer run – the participants went to the distance in a motley single company, but with a separate, of course, men’s and women’s standings. The main favorites in the dispute between the representatives of the stronger sex were the experienced Andrey Leimenov from East Kazakhstan and Mikhail Krasilov from Zhambyl region. They stayed side by side for the first third of the race, but gradually the 27-year-old Krasilov began to lag behind his 30-year-old opponent, and by the finish Leimenov’s advantage reached almost a minute. June 12th. The Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Running 10,000 meters. Men: 1. Andrey Leimenov (East Kazakhstan region) – 30.53,0 min. 2. Mikhail Krasilov (Zhambyl region) – 31.52.8 min. 3. Daryn Konysbayev (Almaty region) – 33.12.5 min. For women, the expected competition between the participants of the 2016 Olympics in the marathon Gulzhanat Zhanatbek (Almaty region) and Irina Smolnikova (East Kazakhstan region) lasted even less. Literally 5-6 laps after the start, Zhanatbek began to break away from her main rival, more than a minute and a half ahead of her at the finish. At the same time, it should be noted that both the men’s and women’s races turned out to be far from outstanding in terms of average speed. June 12th. The Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In the morning program, where the hammer throwers were arguing, Diana Nusupbekova, a 21-year-old national record holder from Almaty, achieved a tangible advantage over her rivals, sending a projectile in the best attempt at 60.25 meters. In principle, I have already gained a good shape, but today not everything turned out smoothly. During training, it was possible to send a projectile to the area of 62 meters (the record of Kazakhstan set by Nusupbekova last year is 62.50 m – auth.), but now she has made small technical mistakes. The next start will be at the Gusman Kosanov Memorial on June 24-25, where I will try to improve the result. East Kazakhstanis Artur Gafner and Varvara Nazarova achieved success in the men’s and women’s javelin throwing tournaments held after lunch. They also fell short of their best achievements last year (72.77 and 52.76 m, respectively), but the results shown this time were quite enough for them to win confident victories. June 12th.
