The second competition day of the Kazakhstan Championship began with race walking among youth. Almaty athletes took part in the 5000 m race walk. The heptathlon program included: 60 m sprint, long jump, shot put, high jump, 60 m hurdles, pole vault, and 1000 m run. Boys (7 participants): Sergey Dementyev (Karaganda region) – 4101 points Evgeniy Buss (Karaganda region) – 3613 points Kirill Bereza (Karaganda region) – 3237 points A trainee from Ust-Kamenogorsk took second place at the Kazakhstan Youth Championship in the heptathlon. The athlete was the best in three out of seven disciplines: long jump (5.66 m), shot put (11.22 m), and pole vault (4.20 m). In total points, Kalenov lagged by only 44 points behind Almaty athlete Evgeniy Marchenko. Men (4 participants): Evgeniy Marchenko (Almaty) – 4589 points Yerbol Kalenov (VKO) – 4545 points Alexander Piskarev (Karaganda region) – 4068 points Elizaveta Matveeva is again among the leaders. The high jump competition ended successfully for the Ust-Kamenogorsk athlete. Matveeva won the bronze in the high jump, but had to share her third place with Almaty athlete Adel Bekbauova, who achieved the exact same result. Competition after competition, the athlete from Semey continues to top the rankings in the high jump. Recently, from January 27–29, the Kazakhstan Junior Athletics Championship was held at the O. Rypakova indoor arena, where Dubovitskaya became the high jump champion with a result of 180 cm. In the following Kazakhstan Youth Championship, which concluded just yesterday, Nadezhda once again claimed the championship title, clearing a height 10 cm lower than at the previous championship. The Semey athlete finished first in the 800 m race at the Kazakhstan Youth Championship. It is worth noting that Kusmanov has become the best in this distance for the second year in a row. But that’s not all — another VKO athlete, Evgeniy Arkhipov, also made it to the top. The runner finished second, literally right behind Kusmanov, with a difference of less than two seconds.
