Both the men’s and women’s teams from the regional center claimed victory in the 4x200m relay. The women’s race proved difficult, as the local team faced a tough challenge from a strong Ridder squad. The final advantage for the champions was a mere few hundredths of a second. The men’s race was equally intense, with runners from Semey acting as the main competitors. During the relay, the guests even took the lead, but when your roster includes a “trump card” like Vlad Leshin—the Kazakhstan champion in the 200m—you can afford to give opponents a small head start. Starting the final leg, Leshin overtook his competitor from Semey like a Ferrari passing a bus, leading his team to a victory with a solid margin. The men’s medley relay (400-300-200-100m) also ended in triumph for Ust-Kamenogorsk. Notably, the home team featured the same athletes as the previous discipline: Yuri Eger, Vladislav Leshin, Dmitry Romanov, and Vitaly Litzenberger.
