On the eighteenth and nineteenth of September, the champion of the Olympic Games -2012 Olga Rypakova successfully performed twice at the Asian Games in Ashgabat.
On the first day of competition, the best track and field athlete of Kazakhstan competed in the long jump. Together with Olga, eleven more competitors came out to perform, one of whom was Kazakhstani jumper Irina Ektova. In the first attempt, Rypakova jumped with a result of 6.34 m, leaving her rivals behind. The third (6.41 m) and fourth (6.43 m) attempts became “crowning” at all, because no one else managed to jump over our athlete.
On the second day, the best jumper of Kazakhstan showed her skills in the triple jump. Long before the start, athletics fans were sure that Olga Rypakova would bring the gold medal from Turkmenistan, having performed in this discipline. Exactly the same number of athletes entered the arena as in the long jump, and for seven of them, the first attempt turned out, unfortunately, to no avail – the girls made a spade, among them were two athletes from Kazakhstan Olga Rypakova and Maria Ovchinnikova.
The second jump ended similarly for the Ust-Kamenogorsk jumper, but in the third (13.96 m) and fourth (14.32 m) attempts, Rypakova secured the lead among her rivals. Not only did no one manage to jump further than our countryman, none of the participants could get closer to her result. Maria Ovchinnikova won silver in the triple jump – 13.21 m, and track and field athlete from China Tang Kizhao took third place.
