Olga Rypakova Wins Diamond League Stage in Birmingham

Olga Rypakova, the London Olympic champion in the triple jump, emerged victorious at the sixth stage of the Diamond League held in Birmingham, UK, reports Vesti.kz. In her final attempt, Rypakova managed to snatch the win from the main favorite, Caterine Ibargüen of Colombia. The Kazakhstani athlete jumped 14.61 meters, while the Colombian, who held a mark of 14.56 meters, was unable to improve her score. Third place went to Ukraine’s Olha Saladukha, with a best jump of 14.40 meters. Notably, this result equaled Rypakova’s personal best of the season. Furthermore, the Kazakhstani athlete became the first person to defeat Ibargüen in four years. As a reminder, at the fifth stage of the Diamond League in Rome, Rypakova finished second, trailing only Ibargüen.. Источник :http://vesti.kz/athletics/221337/
Olga Rypakova finishes second at the 5th stage of the Diamond League

Olga Rypakova finishes second at the 5th stage of the Diamond League On the night of June 2 to 3, Rome hosted the 5th stage of the elite Diamond League athletics series, where Olga Rypakova delivered a solid performance, reports the 16news.kz correspondent. The competition in Rome was special, primarily because it marked the first meeting in a long time of all three London Olympic medalists: Olga Rypakova, Colombia’s Caterine Ibargüen, and Ukraine’s Olha Saladukha. The latter, however, was rather disappointing; she failed to produce a respectable result and consequently missed out on the final three jumps after her initial three attempts. Rypakova and Ibargüen, on the other hand, had a very engaging duel. After the second jump, our compatriot was in the lead with a mark of 14.51m. This result spurred the Colombian star to improve her performance—reaching 14.64m in her third attempt and 14.78m in her sixth. Unfortunately, Rypakova was unable to surpass those marks and finished in second place. Third place went unexpectedly to Jamaican athlete Shanieka Thomas. Following this stage, Olga Rypakova climbed to second place in the current Diamond League overall standings. Caterine Ibargüen holds a massive lead, having won all three stages where the women’s triple jump has been contested so far. Alexey Gubanov Source: 16news.kz
International athletics competitions were held in Almaty on May 24-25 at the Central Stadium. Athletes from four countries participated: Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and, naturally, Kazakhstan. Seven athletes from East Kazakhstan (EKR) competed as part of the Kazakhstan national team, and every single one of them ended up on the podium. The javelin throwers achieved the greatest success. Artur Gafner sent the javelin to 72.77 m! It is worth noting that he was the only competitor in the javelin sector, so a gold medal was guaranteed. However, this factor did not lead to relaxation, and Artur delivered a performance that allowed him to surpass the junior record of Kazakhstan! This throw secured his participation in the Asian Junior Championships in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from June 4 to 6, and also met the requirements for the Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Varvara Nazarova performed even more brilliantly. While she did not exceed Gafner’s mark, she managed to make history—at just 18 years old, she set a new adult record for Kazakhstan! From her very first attempt, she systematically approached the 50 m mark, and in her fifth attempt, she managed to throw the javelin 50.23 m! This is just 6 cm further than Svetlana Kazanina’s result, set 13 years ago at the World Championships in Saint-Denis (France)! At that time, Nazarova was only 5 years old… Gold medals of the international tournament were won by middle-distance masters Vladislav Sutyagin and Evgeniy Arkhipov, who, as part of the 4×400 m relay team, finished first in a very tough competition against Kyrgyzstan. Sutyagin and Arkhipov also earned individual awards: Vlad won a bronze medal in the 400 m, while Arkhipov took second in the 800 m, trailing the strong Karaganda runner Duman Gabdygaliev by only half a second. Nadezhda Dubovitskaya, a high jumper from Semey, became the tournament champion with a very respectable result of 1.8 m. Silver and bronze medals were brought home by Ust-Kamenogorsk residents Konstantin Skrynnik and Alexey Vladimirov in the hammer throw. Ust-Kamenogorsk Athletes Secure Victory at the National Sports Games

Ust-Kamenogorsk Athletes Secure Victory at the National Sports Games Athletes from Ust-Kamenogorsk gave away only one victory out of four possible on the second day of competition. Both the men’s and women’s teams from the regional center claimed victory in the 4x200m relay. The women’s race proved difficult, as the local team faced a tough challenge from a strong Ridder squad. The final advantage for the champions was a mere few hundredths of a second. The men’s race was equally intense, with runners from Semey acting as the main competitors. During the relay, the guests even took the lead, but when your roster includes a “trump card” like Vlad Leshin—the Kazakhstan champion in the 200m—you can afford to give opponents a small head start. Starting the final leg, Leshin overtook his competitor from Semey like a Ferrari passing a bus, leading his team to a victory with a solid margin. The men’s medley relay (400-300-200-100m) also ended in triumph for Ust-Kamenogorsk. Notably, the home team featured the same athletes as the previous discipline: Yuri Eger, Vladislav Leshin, Dmitry Romanov, and Vitaly Litzenberger. This time, the Ridder team tried to challenge Ust-Kamenogorsk, but Leshin and Co. once again achieved a confident victory. The struggle in the women’s medley relay was much more heated. The Ridder national team (Irina Smolnikova, Arina Kharlamova, Alina Savelyeva, and Olga Denisova) managed to withstand the attacks of the hosts and rightfully took first place, beating Ust-Kamenogorsk by just 0.41 seconds. This single victory was not enough for Ridder to maintain first place in the overall standings of the athletics tournament at the XX National Sports Games. The overall winners were the athletes from Ust-Kamenogorsk, who outperformed their competitors by only 14 points! TOURNAMENT RESULTS 4×200 m Relay. Welcome!
The primary successes of the EKR national team in flat racing were linked to the men’s side

The primary successes of the EKR national team in flat racing were linked to the men’s side. Vladislav Sutyagin and Evgeniy Arkhipov put on a real show in the 400m distance. They hit the final straight together, leaving their competitors far behind. In the final meters, Sutyagin proved faster, edging out Arkhipov by just 0.36 seconds! Evgeniy, however, did not remain “just” a silver medalist for long. He went on to be the fastest in the 800m, beating the formidable Karaganda runner Duman Gabdygaliev by 0.69 seconds. It appears that Ridder’s long-distance master Moldir Seitkhanova is regaining her former form. While the winter season was clearly unsuccessful for her, the beginning of summer has proven “fruitful” in terms of medals. To her “bronze” at 1500m, Moldir added an unconditional victory in the 3000m race! Seitkhanova outperformed her closest pursuer, Albosyn Zhupaeva, by nearly a minute in that triumphant run. Ust-Kamenogorsk runner Oryngul Zkrienova is back on the winning track, taking first place in the 100m hurdles. Having recently returned to action after a difficult leg injury, she is already churning out victories one after another. Notably, EKR secured a double podium in this race: Erika Kem finished third. Erika also stood out with a convincing victory at this championship, bringing a gold medal to the EKR team in the shot put as the only athlete to send the shot past the 11m mark. The javelin throw competitions concluded with a double victory for the EKR team. In the men’s event, Ust-Kamenogorsk athlete Artur Gafner was head and shoulders above the rest, outthrowing his competitors by nearly 20 meters! Among the women, Varvara Nazarova’s triumph was equally convincing. High jumper Nadezhda Dubovitskaya from Semey also managed to win, though not with her most impressive result. It is evident that the coaches of last year’s Asian Junior Championship bronze medalist are not aiming for her peak performance at the very start of the season. Alexey Gubanov Source: vksport.kz
