Who’s going?

The 2017 World Summer Universiade will be held in Taipei from the nineteenth to the thirtieth of August. It became known that the composition of the national team of Kazakhstan, which will go to the upcoming competitions in August, has already been formed, and was announced on the official website of the Athletics Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Among the twenty-five selected athletes, the list includes four names of athletes from the East Kazakhstan region. The only guy from East Kazakhstan Region who has a ticket to these starts was a family man named Imanmadi Kusmanov, who competes in the 800 m. Well, as it has already become clear, the other three lucky ones are girls.  Ridder 400 m runner Elina Mikhina, Oryngul Zkrienova in the 100 m hurdles, and Kazakhstan’s record holder in the javelin throw Varvara Nazarova will also compete there. In the meantime, there is exactly one month left before the start of the Universiade, the athletes are persistently preparing for the upcoming starts. We wish good luck to our athletes, and we are following the developments! Inna Semenyak The photo was taken from the official VKontakte page of Imanmadi Kusmanov

Did you manage to make a sensation?

After these competitions, the media almost exploded from publications that Rypakova was placed fourth in the final protocol of the competition, and even more surprised everyone by the fact that the best jumper in Kazakhstan lost to the athlete from Greece Paraskevi Papachristou by only 1 cm. Recall that very soon, on August 4, the long-awaited World Championship will start, where our compatriot will compete for the title of the best of the best. And after this start, Olga will go to the third stage of the Diamond League, which will be held on August 24 in Switzerland. But even the fact that there is absolutely no place for rest in Rypakova’s schedule, because all these serious competitions literally step on each other’s heels, did not confuse absolutely anyone. A couple of days after the completion of the second stage, Denis Rypakov, the head of the Athletics Federation of the East Kazakhstan region, and Olga Rypakova herself, told in an interview about what actually happened at the last starts, and what goals the Olympic champion pursues. – Denis Sergeevich, the second stage of the Diamond League ended in Rabat a couple of days ago. At what level were the competitions held? – The competition, as always, was held at a high level! Excellent organization, excellent conditions for athletes. Everything is going on at the level of the Olympic Games, everything is thought out to the smallest detail. Everything works smoothly, it is very pleasant to enjoy such an organization! We ourselves, as organizers, have been holding various athletics championships for the third year, and we know firsthand what hard work it is. We want to say a big thank you to the organizers for such a wonderful holiday! In an interview with Olga Rypakova: – Olga, how do you feel after the competition? – I feel good (smiles). We are going to practice right now, we are preparing further. The last start was like one of the stages of preparation. We tried ourselves in a competitive mode: jumping in longer runs than in training. I competed at high volumes, at a huge load, so for such a condition, my result of 14.20 m was expected. That’s what the coach and I were counting on! To be honest, there was no goal to win the first place, or to become one of the winners. The goal was to stay close by the results, as well as keep yourself in such working shape and score points. The main thing is ahead: to get to the final in Zurich, because the main start will be there! – Many media outlets point out that you are no longer in the same shape, that the best times are over, and they ask questions about whether it was worth performing at all at this stage. How do you feel about this? – In fact, we take it calmly (smiles). Different sources write differently, some good, some not so good. But despite this, we do not give up, do not give up and work hard on! We have a goal – the World Cup, which will be held soon in August, these will be the main competitions. We cannot give up our positions, so we are slowly, carefully going to her! You can’t explain it to everyone, so we’re just doing our job! – If you look at it, then any sane person who follows professional sports should clearly understand that no matter what the result is, this is the result! Moreover, the main start awaits you – the World Championship in London. What is the mood for the upcoming competitions? – The mood is very combative. The rivals are the strongest, and we are among them! – Your schedule includes championship after championship. How do you manage to keep fit? – The secret is simple: heavy regular workouts, regimen, nutrition! Sport is very hard work! The Rypakov family shared such experiences and goals with us in the near future. Probably, it is only now worth summarizing the results of the last competitions in Morocco, after we learned the information firsthand! Athletics is the “Queen of Sports”, it is not for nothing that this sport was nicknamed for its deep history and for its popularity among other sports. It is unlikely that anyone will ever mention its lightness, because athletics requires a special approach to itself. And it doesn’t matter what kind of discipline it will be: running, walking or triple jump! Inna Semenyak

Not a single medal

Four athletes from East Kazakhstan Region competed at the Asian competitions, which were held in Bhubaneswar from the sixth to the ninth of July. Javelin thrower Varvara Nazarova and 400m runner Elina Mikhina were the first to perform in the Indian arena.  The girls’ competitions ended more than unsuccessfully. Nazarova, among the thirteen participants, was placed on the twelfth line in the final puncture with a score of 49.56 m, although Varvara’s personal best is 50.23 m, by the way, the same thing happened to the record holder of Kazakhstan among guys Arthur Gafner, who performed on the final day of the competition.  Not only did the athlete end up in fifteenth place, Gafner finished the competition with an indicator of 63.59 m, but this is 9.18 m less than his best result! As for Elina Mikhina, things are no better here. Recall that most recently, the athlete became the winner of the second stage of the Asian Grand Prix, where she managed to show her best result in the season of 52.79 s and become the first.  This time, Elina failed to enter the finalists, because her result was 57.33 seconds. The athlete seemed to have good reasons to finish her start with just such a time.  After all, watching such a sharp deterioration in the result of Mikhina, it just becomes uncomfortable. And the last one we haven’t had time to mention yet was Nadezhda Dubovitskaya, who competed in the high jump. I would like to note that this jumper was obviously unlucky, because the girl’s personal record is 1.80 m, but this time she failed to “take” such a height. As a result, Nadia took sixth place among 13 competitors with a score of 1.75 m. Looking at the results of the performance of Nadia’s rivals, it is unlikely that our compatriot would have become the owner of the “gold”, because the high-altitude athlete from Uzbekistan completed the competition with a result of 1.84 m, but Dubovitskaya would still have managed to enter the leaders with her “personal”. I would probably like to write off everything on the condition of the athlete, because she performed at such a large-scale championship for the first time. This Asian Championship ended with such disappointing forecasts, but we hope that after a little while our athletes will still return to their former course, because there are never ups without downs! Last chance for “peace”!

The long-awaited Asian Athletics Championships will be held in Bhubaneswar from the sixth to the ninth of July. About 800 athletes from 45 countries came to hot India to face off. Our athletes have been preparing for these starts for a very long time and hard, and tomorrow they will be able to show their skills on Indian soil. Among the eighteen athletes representing the Republic of Kazakhstan, there is a female trio from East Kazakhstan: the country’s best javelin thrower Varvara Nazarova, high jumper Nadezhda Dubovitskaya, as well as one of the fastest track and field athletes of the republic Elina Mikhina, who will compete in the 400 m. But among the guys, only one athlete from East Kazakhstan region, the record holder of Kazakhstan in javelin throw, Arthur Gafner, was selected for an exotic country. The most interesting thing is that East Kazakhstan athletes will represent all of the above types alone, which makes their competitions much more responsible! Varvara Nazarova will perform in the javelin throw on the first day of the competition. Together with our athlete, 12 more girls from China, Iran, Japan, Korea, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand and India will perform. This time, the host country has an advantage over the guests, India is allowed to field three athletes in each discipline, instead of the usual two. And this probably adds to the chances of winning to some extent. On the same day, 400 m running competitions will be held, in which Ridder runner Alina Mikhina performs. Eighteen participants will take part, including our athlete. Vietnam, Malaysia, Maldives and Tajikistan will be added to the list of countries listed in the paragraph above. It is likely that Elina will also compete in the 4-400m relay together with Merjen Ishanguliyeva, Tatyana Neroznak and Adelina Akhmetova. The very next day, Nadezhda Dubovitskaya, an athlete from Semey, will compete for the title of the best high jumper, and along with her, twelve more high-rise athletes appear on the list of participants. As the athlete herself says, she knows all the competitors by sight, but Nadezhda is still not quite comfortable performing, because this is her first time at a competition of this level. – Nadia, do you think you will have to put a lot of effort into this performance to become the best? – I think that’s enough! To be honest, I can’t even imagine how it will be, because this is the first time I will compete at the Senior Asia! – Are you very worried? – A little bit (smiles). I recently injured my back. – Did this happen in training? – Yes, I practiced with a barbell. – How do you feel internally? Are you more worried about the injury or is it more mentally difficult? – I’m afraid that the pain will not allow you to jump fully! But we still hope that Nadia will feel better and show a good result. And finally, the only guy from East Kazakhstan Region, Arthur Gafner, will perform on the final day of the javelin throw competition. More than twenty guys from different countries will compete with our athlete, in addition to the participating countries that were announced above, athletes from countries such as Bangladesh, Pakistan, Qatar and Saudi Arabia will compete in the list of javelin throwers. According to the results of this championship, it will be known who will win a ticket to the World Championship in London, which will be held from August 4 to 13! Inna Semenyak

Dubovitskaya and Kaisarova were among the winners of the international athletics tournament

Getting into the number of prize-winners was quite predictable even before the start of the women’s high jump competition, because out of five participants in this type of program, three girls represented East Kazakhstan Region at once. And not just our region, but the city of Semey, because Regina Kaisarova, Alexandra Krivitskaya, and Nadezhda Dubovitskaya are students of athletics in this city. A real struggle could have unfolded and unfolded between three athletes: the champions of Kazakhstan Kaysarova and Dubovitskaya, as well as a guest from Uzbekistan Safina Sadullayeva. Krivitskaya is still recovering after a long pause in her career, and our girls have proven their superiority over another jumper from Kazakhstan, Alexandra Gulyukina, a long time ago. Kaisarova, whose preparations for the summer season were spoiled, again failed to overcome the 1.8 m mark and dropped out of the fight, securing third place. Dubovitskaya and Sadullayeva continued to fight among themselves. Interestingly, the duelists are almost exactly the same age. Both were born in 1998, and both were born in March. Safina is only 8 days older than our Hope. But the superiority of the Uzbek athlete was still felt on this day. Dubovitskaya had problems even overcoming the 175 cm mark, coping with it only on the third attempt. With the last jump, she overcame 180 cm, but she could not jump higher. Sadullayeva, on the other hand, took all heights up to 185 centimeters on the first attempt, and only managed to overcome the above-mentioned bar only from the third jump. There was an attempt to storm 189 cm, but it ended unsuccessfully. As a result, two of our three jumpers managed to be on the podium, and Alexandra Krivitskaya still has a lot ahead of her. The pupil of athletics Semey won the “silver” of the international tournament

Our compatriots received many awards from the capital of the adjacent state, many of which were high Awards. But Amal Syzdykov was able to win one silver medal for his native Semipalatinsk. A pupil of the East Kazakhstan athletics school has been moving to Almaty for some time and playing for the national team of this city, but his East Kazakhstan roots make us follow the career of this master of short-distance running. In Bishkek, Syzdykov, together with representatives of other regions of Kazakhstan Artem Savelyev, Eran Ibraimov and Elnor Mukhitdinov, performed as part of the 4-100 m Kazakhstan relay. Our relay race ran through the stadium with a result of 41.58 s. OUR HELP Tatyana Kolpakova-Olympic champion of Moscow – 1980 long jump. In this tournament, he was able to show the result of 7.06 m, at that time it was an Olympic record! Moreover, he was able to show such a crazy leap in the very last attempt, before which he was only the fourth! The tournament dedicated to the prizes of the great athlete was held for the 20th time this year. Four athletes of East Kazakhstan Region joined the national team of the RK

Following the results of the Kazakhstan Athletics Championship, which ended on June 14, the coaching staff of our country’s national team determined the composition of the delegation to the Asian Championship, which will be held from July 6 to 9 in Bhubaneshwar, India. Javelins Artur Gafner and Varvara Nazarova, jumpers Nadezhda Dubovitskaya from Semey and Elina Mikhina from Ridder (pictured) will perform at the Asian Championship in East Kazakhstan region at a distance of 400 m. Six athletes of East Kazakhstan Region became champions of Kazakhstan

The very first medal of our national team was brought by the reinforced concrete favorite in the javelin throw, Arthur Gafner from the village of Sugatovka in the East Kazakhstan region. His gold medal was, as they say, counted, because everyone has already got used to the fact that if Gafner goes to the start, then it is no longer necessary to enter the sector with hopes of “gold”. In Almaty, Arthur showed an average result for himself – 65.08 m. But it was enough to bypass the nearest pursuer Evgeny Anokhin from the North Kazakhstan region by almost nine meters! Javelin throwing became a discipline in which the dominance of East Kazakhstan Region athletes was simply undeniable. Varvara Nazarova, the national record holder from Ust–Kamenogorsk, won the women’s championship in this discipline. The beautiful athlete, who will turn 20 years old only in July, sent a projectile to 50.58 m. However, unlike Gafner, her advantage over the second place was not so devastating – Asiya Rabayeva from Mangystau region comes on Varvara’s “heels” with a gap of only three meters. The only discipline in which East Kazakhstan Region athletes were able to take the entire podium was the men’s hammer throw. Vladimir Torlopov, of course, is a great hero, because he became the champion, but the above fact became a much bigger event. Oleg Lyubimov became the second, and Alexey Vladimirov became the third. At the same time, it would be unreasonable to think that only three athletes took part in the championship. By world standards, of course, the results of our heroes are not outstanding, but the fact is that in Kazakhstan, there are simply no hammers stronger than ours in East Kazakhstan region. Now about the heroes from Semey. In total, the athletes of this city have won seven awards. The only “gold” was taken to her hometown by high jumper Regina Kaisarova. Another jumper from Semey, Nadezhda Dubovitskaya, showed the same result with Kaisarova – 1.8 m each. But it took less attempts for Regina to overcome this height, and she became a champion. Another discipline in which the family managed to win several awards at once is the men’s 800 m final race. Imanmadi Kusmanov and Evgeny Arkhipov finished second and third respectively. Together with Kusmanov and Dubovitskaya, Sergey Ershov pleased his countrymen with the vice-championship title, who became the second in the 1500 m distance. Well, a young promising jumper Ivan Solovyov managed to win two bronze medals in the long jump and triple jump. Ustkamenogorets all together added six medals to the piggy bank of medals. We have already reported about the champions Nazarova and Torlopov. But another representative of the throwing disciplines is more than worthy of attention, because to become the second in the shot put after one hundred percent favorite Ivan Ivanov is by no means shameful. Such a hero was Damir Kasainov, who won a silver medal for East Kazakhstan Region. Magzhan Zhakypbekov’s performance in the decathlon brought another bronze medal to the administrative center of our region. Magzhan scored 5806 points, showing good competitiveness in the fight against the favorites from Almaty Marchenkov and Kasyanov. Well, how can we not say about the magnificent Ridder stayers Irina Smolnikova and Andrei Leimenov. They won three medals between them. Both became champions. So Smolnikova won the 5 km race and became the second at a distance of 10 km. Leimenov could have easily added some other award to his 10,000 m title at a distance twice as short, but apparently he couldn’t cope with the heat and left the race. Meanwhile, East Kazakhstan Region also has an unrealized potential. Olga Rypakova did not participate in the championship, Elina Mikhina from Ridder and Evgeny Chettykbayev from Ust-Kamenogorsk did not perform so effectively due to injuries or illnesses. The first one qualified for the final of the 400 m race, but did not make it to the final, and the second one in the triple jump sector made only one attempt, in which he made a spade, and did not participate in the competition anymore. But even without this, the medal harvest should be recognized as successful. RUNNING 100 M Men (27 participants): 1. Vitaly Zems (Karaganda region) – 10.65 2. Alexander Kasper (Astana) – 10.68 3. Evgeny Marchenkov and Nadezhda Kirnos are the best in the all–around

The competitions in men’s 10-wrestle and women’s 7-wrestle at the Kazakhstan Championship, which ended on June 14 in Almaty, turned out to be quite representative compared to the National Cup held in mid-May. At the cup tournament, only four participants (one man and three women) came to the start, and now there were ten people on the application lists at once. Moreover, for representatives of the stronger sex, all athletes, without exception, overcame the multi-species distance to the end, while for women, two athletes still came off ahead of time for medical reasons. The dispute over the final victory in the men’s competition broke out between Almaty residents – 22-year-old Evgeny Marchenkov and 24-year-old Alexander Kasyanov (participant of the Kazakhstan Cup). Kasyanov also took the lead after the first five types, ahead of his main competitor by more than 200 points. But on the second day, Marchenkov performed much better in discus, javelin and pole vault. This allowed him to come out on top and maintain his advantage after the final discipline – running 1,500 meters. For women, as in cup competitions, the ball was ruled by the strongest heptathlete of the country today – 23-year-old Nadezhda Kirnos from the Mangystau region. She achieved a good gap from her rivals already in the first form – the 100-meter hurdles, and by the end of the tournament she had significantly increased it. That’s just his final result (5,190 points) Nadezhda was hardly satisfied. A month ago, she managed to score 5,376 points. June 12-13. The Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Men. 10-borye: 1. Evgeny Marchenkov (Almaty) – 6,072 points 2. Alexander Kasyanov (Almaty) – 5,961 points 3. Magzhan Zhakypbekov (East Kazakhstan region) – 5,806 points June 13-14. The Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Women. 7-borye: 1. Nadezhda Kirnos (Mangystau region) – 5,190 points 2. Valentina Potapova (Karaganda region) – 4,125 points 3. Maria Semenova (Mangystau region) – 4,058 points At the end of the competition in the women’s 7-wrestle, the results of the fight at the national championship in the team competition were summed up. The top three athletes were athletes from Almaty (28,678 points), Karaganda (27,836) and Pavlodar (27,244) regions.
