Readiness number one

The junior national athletics team of East Kazakhstan Region won seven gold medals on the first day of the Kazakhstan Championship alone. The Kazakhstan Junior Athletics Championship started yesterday in Almaty and brought a huge amount of positive news for East Kazakhstanis. The national team of our region added two silver and bronze medals to the seven championship titles. But we will pay special attention to our champions. The most “profitable” discipline for us was the 400 m running. In total, this distance brought us two gold and one silver medals. Efim Tarasov from Ridder won his race in a mocking manner, shaking his head at the finish line out of frustration that no one in Kazakhstan could offer him proper resistance, even at the junior level. Our citizen Ekaterina Efremova became the national champion at this distance, and only the Belousovskaya pupil Ayim Kaysanova, who ran to the finish line second, was able to impose the fight for the “gold” on her. The most unexpected triumph was the victory of the men’s relay of the East Kazakhstan Region 4 to 100 m. Viktor Zakharov, Vladimir Feshchenko, Alexander Aksyutin and Ramiz Kartaev managed to win, despite the fact that none of them specializes in the 100 m distance! The women’s 4x100m relay was the third. The bronze medal in this type of program for East Kazakhstan Region was won by Daria Demchenko, Ayim Kaysanova, Ekaterina Efremova and Anastasia Zavodina. Zavodina, by the way, strengthened our relay race already being the champion of these competitions. Earlier, she won the gold medal in the long jump with the best result of 5.64 m in the last year. Elizaveta Matveeva from Ust-Kamenogorsk continued the tradition of East Kazakhstan Region dominance in the high jump, winning with a score of 180 cm. Dmitry Lukichev did the same, however, in a different discipline – hammer throwing. Our countryman “swept” the nearest pursuer by three meters, showing 42.8 m in the best attempt. Well, another bronze medal was awarded to Nursultan Zhumabekov in the pole vault. The East Kazakhstan Region national team has 7 gold medals, while the closest pursuers in the team competition have only two each. But we still have very strong athletes in the 200 m run, men’s high jump, 4 to 400 relay races in classic and mixed versions and discus throwing. So a successful start day may well be the key to the final success of our squad! Source: yk.kz

The national team of Kazakhstan won the first “Eurasian Athletics Meeting”

The second day of the I “EURASIAN ATHLETICS MEETING U20” has also ended in Almaty. Kazakhstan scored the most points among the six national junior teams, marking the beginning of a tradition of victorious home performances at international match meetings. The junior national team of Kazakhstan became the winner of the international match meeting, scoring 254 points in the tournament piggy bank. Uzbekistan took the second place with 184 points. The Tajik team earned 115 points and became the third, defending its right to the top three in the confrontation with Kyrgyzstan (112 points). India (77) and Belarus (75) shared fifth and sixth places, respectively. RUNNING 200 M What the athletes of Altai Athletics did at the Kazakhstan Junior Championship at this distance, they almost managed to repeat at the international match meeting in Almaty. Then, we recall, the entire podium was occupied by representatives of East Kazakhstan Region with Efim Tarasov at its top step. Tarasov was not present at the match meeting, but the quality of his performance did not decrease. We also have other miracle heroes who are able to win. Both Feshchenko and Aksyutin were equally worthy of the gold medal, which is confirmed by the results, because they separated both athletes by only 0.01 seconds! Aksyutin, who won, set his new personal best at this distance. The previous personal achievement has been held since February 2018 and was equal to 22.52 s. Vladimir Feshchenko did the same. His progress turned out to be even more impressive, because his previous personal best was 22.72 s. Alexander Aksyutin became the first two-time winner of international match meetings in the history of Kazakhstan with the participation of teams from far abroad in the history of Kazakhstan. Yesterday he also won as part of the 4-100m relay. Men (8 participants): 1. Alexander AKSYUTIN (Kazakhstan, Altai Athletics-2) – 22.47 2. Vladimir FESHCHENKO (Kazakhstan, Altai Athletics-2) – 22.48 3. Azamat Taurov (Uzbekistan) – 22.53 Alexandra Sytina was simply beaming with happiness after the finish. She had two reasons for this state at once: firstly, she won an international match meeting for the first time, and secondly, for the first time in her life she “ran out” of 25 seconds. At the same time, Alexandra is only 16 years old! Anastasia Trifonova has also updated her highest achievement! Girls (6 participants): 1. Alexandra SYTINA (Kazakhstan) – 24.96 2. Anastasia TRIFONOVA (Kazakhstan) – 25.27 3. Alena Butsia (Belarus) – 26.31 RUNNING 800 M Karagandinets Sergey Sukhov dragged the whole honest company on himself, leading the race. This, as you know, is a thankless task, and he lost the lead at the finish line. However, he allowed himself to be bypassed only by the representative of India, having won the battle for the silver medal from a very interesting “middleweight” from Kyrgyzstan, Mikhail Soloshenko. Men (7 participants): 1. Nandakumar Sreekiran (India) – 1:54.62 2. Sergey SUKHOV (Kazakhstan) – 1:56.12 3. Mikhail Soloshenko (Kyrgyzstan) – 1:56.99 One of the few disciplines in which Kazakhstani athletes did not find a place in the top three. At the same time, it would not be easy for Kazakhstan to claim a medal even if the national champion at that distance, Ulyana Plekhanova, took part in this meeting. Even if Ulyana had repeated her result of the victorious junior Championship of Kazakhstan, she would still have lost to the top three by about five seconds. Girls (6 participants): 1. Kamila Radjabova (Uzbekistan) – 2:11.68 2. Daniel Priscilla (India) – 2:12.43 3. Ina Novik (Belarus) – 2:12.43 …5. Nadezhda YURCHENKO (Kazakhstan) – 2:26.55 RUNNING 3000 M Marjona Baratova beat all her competitors by a lap, winning the gold medal with more than a clear advantage. Kazakhstani athletes Kristina Morozova and Ryana Zeynalova competed outside the competition. Morozova showed the second time in the race (11:28.23). Girls (4 participants): 1. Marjona Baratova (Uzbekistan) – 10:30.73 2. Cholpon Takhzabekova (Kyrgyzstan) – 11:38.30 RUNNING 5000 M We have a lot to learn from the brothers from Kyrgyzstan. The winner of the race, Nursultan Keneshbekov, was ahead of absolutely all athletes by a lap, bringing the winner of the second place, the Champion of Kazakhstan at this distance, Daniyar Ormangali from Kazakhstan, more than a minute behind. Another representative of our country, Ilham Yerkabayev, finished the distance third (16:27.16), but performed out of competition, so he did not get on the podium. Men (7 participants): 1. Nursultan Keneshbekov (Kyrgyzstan) – 14:48.86 2. Daniyar ORMANGALI (Kazakhstan) – 15:57.65 3. Bobojon Yakinov (Tajikistan) – 16:42.13 MIXED RELAY 4 TO 400 M It was very difficult to win this silver award. Ayim Kaysanova ran the first stage in our team, while the guys set the pace for three national teams at once, and no matter how great this representative of Altai Athletics-2 was, she could not compete with the men. However, the next stages of Sergei Stepankovsky and Alexandra Zalyubovskaya allowed Kazakhstan to become the leaders of the race, and Artyom Dobrosyslov ran away at the last stage, having a good advantage. But the Hindu Abdul Razak Rashid made an incredible splash at the last stage. It would be possible to keep him except for Efim Tarasov, so it is hardly possible to make any claims to Dobrosyslov, who gave all his strength on the track. Five teams: 1. India – 3:30.58 2. KAZAKHSTAN (KAYSANOVA. Stepankovsky, Zalyubovskaya, Dobrosyslov) – 3:31.62 3. Kyrgyzstan – 3:49.78 RUNNING 110 M HURDLES Danila Corr from Karaganda was the main favorite of this race. He just has the most experience of all the participants at this distance. Moreover, he had a successful experience – in February of this year, at a similar match meeting in Minsk, he won a silver medal, becoming the first our junior to be awarded a podium at the European international level. Here, unlike in Minsk, two silver or gold awards did not have to be awarded, since Corr was much faster than everyone else, ahead of the nearest pursuer by 0.12 seconds at once. Danila significantly
How can you not become a romantic after that?

The international pole vault tournament II “Altay Jumping Party” ended in Ust-Kamenogorsk, which turned out to be incredibly rich in intrigue. The organizers and athletes presented the gathered Ust-Kamenogorsk residents with an incredible show, which had everything: driving music, a waterfall of emotions, the intervention of the weather, the collapse of the favorite and the triumph of the “dark horse”. Pole vaulting is held in Ust-Kamenogorsk for the second year in a row on the central site of the main city of East Kazakhstan region. This is one of the few opportunities for citizens to see the most technically difficult sport in all its glory, and Ust–Kamenogorsk residents took advantage of this opportunity. The athletes had to share the square with street dancers, so there were a lot of spectators in this geographical location. This turned out to be in everyone’s favor: people simply “wandered” from one site to another, having the opportunity to choose a spectacle to their liking. And it’s very nice that many people chose pole vaulting. It was especially gratifying to see the little ones, who looked with enthusiastic eyes at how powerful uncles suddenly turned out to be stronger than the force of gravity and soared to an incredible height and fell with pleasure on soft mats. By the way, as last year, the organizers from the Athletics Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the East Kazakhstan regional Federation of this sport made a separate surprise for the audience: after each successful attempt, the distinguished athlete threw a souvenir T-shirt into the stands. However, free water was also distributed to the fans, because it was hot, and various kinds of souvenirs, which it was simply unsafe to throw into the crowd. You’re not going to throw a ceramic mug at people, are you? However, everything was fine with the sports part itself, too. There was also a very serious intrigue in the form of a confrontation between last year’s winner Vyacheslav Chamarmazovich from Belarus and Sergei Grigoriev from Almaty, who became the second last year. Plus, everyone was waiting for a storm of emotions from the Turkish athlete Aldemir Ilkai, who became the decoration of last year’s “jumping party”. Almost simultaneously with the start of the tournament, losses among the speakers began. The young Almaty resident Ivan Khristenko failed to cope with the starting height, but the most shocking event was the early “withdrawal from the race” of the current winner of the tournament Vyacheslav Chamarmazovich, who also failed to cope with the starting declared height! Who would have thought that such a thing could happen? The wind blowing through the square made itself felt, and the following losses in the composition of the participants could not be avoided at early heights. Alas, Aldemir Ilkay did not feel at ease, who had to be content with the result in 5 m, and Igor Bychkov, the finalist of the Olympic Games in London, who plays for Spain, stopped at the same bar. But there is a silver lining – due to the loss of favorites, we find a completely unexpected leader, who became the incredible Ivan Tovchenik! That’s who felt like a master in Ust-Kamenogorsk! From the first attempts, he took the first two heights, and then completely made a good “bid” for victory, overcoming 5.10 m, which, against the background of the problems of other athletes, looked like a good result. Moreover, the wind, which intensified before the rain, could confuse all the cards for potential leaders. Tovchenik, alas, could not cope with the role of leader to the end, and 5.2 m did not submit to him. But he could well count on third place, because besides him, only Daniil Polyansky and Ivan Eremin remained in the sector at that time. Well, Sergei Grigoriev, who did not appear on the platform, declared such a height that it would be fitting to call him a real impudent man – 5.40 m. With this result, he finished his performance at the victorious Spartakiad of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty a week ago, and then decided to just start from it! So there was no guarantee that Grigoriev would be able to handle such an application. Tovchenik was eventually bypassed by both Polyansky and Eremin, and the Ukrainian athlete took this milestone on the first attempt, and Daniil – on the third. Both could not cope with 5.3 m, after which the moment came for the most important intrigue: all or nothing! It was under this slogan that Sergei Grigoriev came to the platform. If he takes 5.40 m, he becomes a champion, if he does not take it, he turns out to be completely out of the table of ranks, since he would have remained without a result at all. And then a rain cloud completely covered Ust-Kamenogorsk and the central square, adding gusts of wind. And the first two attempts by Grigoriev, who was supported by absolutely everyone with incredible strength, turned out to be extremely bad. They weren’t even close to what could be called attempts at all. Sad thoughts appeared in my head by themselves. But how great is Grigoriev, if he did not let these thoughts appear in his own head, and completely knocked them out of the heads of all those gathered with his simply inhuman third attempt! To say that the height was taken is to say nothing! It is simply impossible to convey in words what ecstasy the audience experienced, and respectable coaches just started jumping from an infrequently experienced feeling of some kind of childish joy! According to the law of literature, if a gun appears at the beginning of a play, then it must fire at the end. The “gun” in the form of Grigoriev appeared at the athletes’ presentation ceremony, and “fired” at the very end! Well, how can you not become a romantic in athletics after that?
