On the first day of the III Central Asian Athletics Championships, held in Tashkent, athletes representing East Kazakhstan Region won three medals.
Yulia Bashmanova won the women’s 100m hurdles with a time of 13.75 seconds — her best result of the season. Anastasia Rypakova took silver in the long jump, improving her result to 6.09m on her fifth attempt, finishing behind only Alina Chistyakova (Kazakhstan) — 6.10m. Another medal for East Kazakhstan Region came from Nadezhda Dubovitskaya, who placed second in the high jump with a result of 1.84m.

- Rosario Tia Louise (Singapore) — 5.95 m
