A 17-year-old representative of the Karaganda region, following the long jump, won the triple jump at the national championship.
On June 13, the winners in the men’s and women’s triple jump were determined at the Kazakhstan Athletics Championships in Almaty. For women, she became the champion Maria Ovchinnikova, who won the long jump the day before. In her best attempt, Ovchinnikova flew to the mark of 13.25 meters and became the first. Anna Gorodkova from the South Kazakhstan region lost only five centimeters to Ovchinnikova. Marina Huseynova from Almaty got the third result — 12.08 meters.
– In the long jump, my feelings were simply cosmic, I caught the courage and jumped for pleasure. I didn’t think about my rivals, maybe because it’s not my main look, I didn’t think about anything, I just did my job. On the triple jump, I was a little clamped down, my emotions remained at length, so they were a little short on the triple jump. In principle, I am happy with the result in length, I jumped almost according to a personal record, one centimeter was not enough. I would like a slightly better result in the triple, we will try our best. I hope I will achieve a good result at the Kosanov Memorial,” Maria Ovchinnikova said after the award ceremony.
The men’s triple jump champion was Roman Valiev with a score of 16.08 meters. Valiev was 17 centimeters ahead of Evgeny Ektov. The third result was achieved by Ivan Solovyov from the East Kazakhstan region.
In parallel with the triple jump, high jumpers competed in the neighboring sector. I jumped higher than everyone else Roman Loshkarev from Almaty is 2.16 meters. Vasily Shchastyy from Akmola region won the silver medal – 2.08 meters, and Vyacheslav Gorchakov from South Kazakhstan region stopped at exactly 2 meters.
