243 athletes from 14 countries took part in the competitions, which were held at the Central Stadium of Almaty and in the throwing sectors of the Almaty Arena stadium.
The first day of the tournament began in the morning with the 100m and 400m races for women and men. As a result, the best received tickets to the finals.
According to the results of the discus throw competitions among women and men, athletes from India took the first place, and athletes from Kazakhstan took the second place. And athletes from Uzbekistan won the bronze medal of the memorial.

Iranian athlete Reza Moghadamkordmahaleh took the first place in the hammer throw competition with a score of 69.68. Uzbekistani Ayub Fayozov took second place with a score of 65.55, Turkmen athlete Mammadov became the bronze medalist of the memorial with a score of 64.32.
The opening ceremony of the 31st Gusman Kosanov International Memorial was held at the Central Stadium. The tournament was officially opened by the First Vice-President of the Asian Athletics Association Surapong Ariyamongkol, Olympic Games winner Olga Rypakova, Secretary General of the Athletics Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askhat Seisembek.
The tournament officially opened with the women’s triple jump. In a hard-fought fight, the champion of Kazakhstan, Maria Efremova, won the memorial gold medal with a score of 14.01. The second on the podium was the representative of Azerbaijan Ekaterina Sarieva with a score of 13.81, the third was the athlete of Uzbekistan Sharifa Davronova with a score of 13.80.
Olga Safronova brought the next gold medal to the piggy bank. She crossed the finish line in the 100m with a score of 11.40. The second was 11.49 Duti Chand (INDIA), the third was 11.61 Jilna Witt (INDIA).
The best male sprinters were determined next. The gold in the 100m race belongs to Pakistani athlete Shajar Abbas with a score of 10.41. Our compatriot Vitaly Zems won the silver medal with a score of 10.47, Thai athlete Bandit Chuanhai won the bronze with a score of 10.51.
In the women’s shot put competition, Abha Khatua (INDIA) became the leader with a score of 16.71, our compatriot Nadezhda Barbanova won the silver medal with a score of 15.04. Indian athlete Manpreet Kaur closes the top three with 14.24.
In the 1500m women’s race, Indian athlete Chanda took first place with a score of 4:24.44, second – Ekaterina Gritsai (KAZ) 4:28.50 and third – Tatyana Neroznak (KAZ) with a score of 4:29.96.
In the 1500m men’s race, our compatriot Maxim Frolovsky won the gold medal with a score of 3:52.72, Pakistani Amir Sohail won the silver medal with a score of 3:53.98, Kyrgyzstani Samat Kazakhbayev won the bronze medal with a score of 3: 55.76.
Thai Patsapon Amsamarn won gold in the men’s pole vault (5.40). Our compatriots Danil Polyansky (5,20) and Sergey Grigoriev (5,00) won silver and bronze.
In the women’s 400m, Indian athletes again scored well. Gold – Kiran (IND) 52.54, silver – Nanako Matsumoto from Japan (52.56), bronze – Sammi (IND) (53.70).
The next gold in the piggy bank was brought by our compatriot Mikhail Litvin. He finished the 400m in 46.04 seconds and again proved his capabilities in this race. The silver medal went to Indian athlete Muhammad Anas Yahia with a score of 46.24, and the bronze medal went to Pakistani Abdul Mueed with a score of 46.86.
Kristina Ovchinnikova won gold in the high jump with a score of 1.96. In addition, she fulfilled the standard for participation in the World Championships in Oregon. Elizaveta Matveeva took the second place with a score of 1.92, and Barnakhon Saifullayeva from Uzbekistan took the third place with a score of 1.80.
An athlete from India won the women’s 400m hurdles. Vitiya Ramrai won a clean victory with a score of 56.87. Our compatriots finished Adelina Akhmetova second in 59.84 seconds, Svetlana Kuznetsova-third with a score of 1:01.69.
In the men’s 400m hurdles, Iranian Mahdi Pirjahan finished first (49.76), athletes from steel Santosh Kumar Tamilarasan (49.97) finished second, Ayasami Dharun (50.10) finished third.
In the 4x100m relay among women, the first and third places were won by domestic teams. And the second place went to the athletes from India.

On the final day, a women’s hammer throw competition was held at the Almaty Arena. In this discipline, the representative of India Sarita Romit Sing won with a score of 62.48. The athlete from Uzbekistan Zarina Nosirzhonova became the second with a score of 57.68, her compatriot Elina Silyamieva was the third with a score of 55.39.
In the women’s javelin throw competitions, the winners were representatives of India. Gold – Anu Rani 62.29, silver -Shilpa Rani 56.16, bronze -Sanjana Chaudhary 55.12.
In the women’s long jump, the gold went to the athlete from India, Ensi Soyzhan (6.44), silver and bronze to our compatriots Maria Efremova (6.36) and Anastasia Rypakova (6.02).
Ukrainian athlete Yulia Bashmanova won the women’s 100m hurdles. She finished in 13.61 seconds. Representative of Uzbekistan Valentina Kibalnikova became the second with a score of 14.05, compatriot Anel Shulakova – the third with a score of 14.17.
In the men’s javelin throwing competitions, our athletes won prizes. Artur Gafner took the first place at 67.44, Alexey Khlystov took the second place at 60.15, and Meyrzhan Khozhumuratov took the third place at 58.75.
In the men’s high jump, Igor Kosolapov won the Memorial gold medal with a score of 2.16. Pakistan’s Sharoz Khan won the silver medal with a score of 2.12, and Uzbekistan’s Timur Rakhmatullayev won the bronze with a score of 2.10.
In the men’s shot put competition, Karanvir Singh (INDIA) won gold with a score of 19.47. Our compatriots took Ivan Ivanov – second place with a score of 18.33, and Danil Plotnikov – third place with a score of 14.38.
In the men’s 110m hurdles, Iranian Masoud Kamran won gold on 14.08. Uzbekistanergash Normurodov 14.38 finished second, compatriot Danila Corr – 14.91 third.
In the women’s pole vault, our compatriot Anastasia Ermakova took the memorial gold medal with a score of 4.20. Angelina Zhuk-Krasnova 4.15 (MOLDOVA) is in second place, Alla Parnov 4.05 (AUSTRALIA) is in third place.
Sekar Dhanalashmi from India won gold in the women’s 200m race with a score of 22.89. Our compatriot Olga Safronova finished second with a score of 23.21. And Duty Chand (INDIA) became third – 23.60.
A Thai athlete was in the lead in the men’s 200m race. Bonson Puripol crossed the finish line in 20.19 seconds and won the memorial gold medal. He also broke the 2016 memorial record. Previously, the Memorial record belonged to Bahrain athlete Yagub Salem Eid (20.43). Dapbang Soraoat won silver with a score of 20.54. Pakistani Shajar Abbas won the bronze medal with a score of 20.87.
In the 5000m men’s race, Kazakhstani Rakhimzhan Kelmanov won with a score of 15: 10.83. Pakistani Amir Sohail took second place with a score of 15:11.76. And our compatriot Alexander Savgurov took third place with a score of 15: 21.39.
In the men’s triple jump competition, Azerbaijani athlete Nazim Babayev won the memorial gold medal with a score of 16.93. Athletes from India took second and third places Eldhous Paul -16.55, Kartik Unicrishnan-16.15.
In the long jump, Muhammad Yanis Yahia (India) won – 8.04, Nazim Babayev (Azerbaijan) took second place – 7.74, Anvar Anvarov (Uzbekistan) took third place – 7.45.
In the women’s 800m, Indian athlete Chanda took the first place with a score of 2:03.46, compatriot Ekaterina Gritsai 2:05.47 took the second place, and Uzbek representative Sabohat Samidzhonova 2:13.12 took the third place.
An athlete from India took the first place in the men’s 800m race Krishnan Kumar with a score of 1:49.80, the second -Kazakhstani Abdulaziz Abdukayumov 1:50.89, the third -Uzbek athlete Khurshid Akhmadaliyev with a score of 1:51.58.
In the 4x400m mixed relay, the Indian team ran first with a score of 3:18.94. Then the prizes were taken by domestic athletes. Second place 3:29.20, third place 3: 38.00.
