Kazakhstan Winter Championship. 1500 m – Awaiting Competition

February 10 – 1500 m Races at the Kazakhstan Winter Athletics Championship On February 10, medals were contested in the 1500-meter races for both men and women at the Kazakhstan Winter Athletics Championship in Ust-Kamenogorsk. The results were not particularly high, but a positive aspect was that athletes from 8 regions, as well as Astana and Almaty, participated in this event. In the women’s race, 9 runners took the start. The most experienced, Tatyana Neroznak from Kostanay, quickly pulled ahead of the other competitors and finished alone, significantly ahead of even her closest pursuers. The lack of real competition allowed Neroznak to run without extra effort. This explains her result at the Candidate for Master of Sport level – 4:25.07 minutes. The battle for second place lasted until the final meters. In the end, silver went to Viktoria Ryzhikova from North Kazakhstan – 4:32.38, and bronze to Evgenia Fandyushina from Pavlodar Region – 4:32.52. Both are young athletes, so it is hoped that Viktoria and Evgenia have much more to achieve in the future. In the men’s 1500-meter race, although the times were not very high, the competition was intense and exciting throughout the race. Lead changes, repeated attempts to break away, and chases – this is exactly what makes athletics exciting for spectators. First to the finish was Alexey Gusarov from Almaty – 3:58.59 minutes. At just 21 years old, he managed to outperform much more experienced competitors. Silver went to Sergey Ershov from East Kazakhstan – 28 years old, and bronze to Mikhail Krasilov from Zhambyl Region – 26 years old. Kazakhstan Athletics FederationPhoto: vksport.kz
Kazakhstan Winter Championship. Pole Vault and High Jump – Limited Contingent

Kazakhstan Winter Championship. Vyacheslav Sakirko: Buda and Ovchinnikova – the Future of Kazakhstani Athletics The Kazakhstan Winter Athletics Championship is traditionally seen as a platform to showcase the potential of athletes who may replace current leaders in the coming years. Following the first day of competition, the head coach of the national team, Vyacheslav Sakirko, highlighted two promising young athletes. “Mikhail Buda from Almaty impressed again in the pole vault,” says Vyacheslav Sakirko. “At the senior Winter Championships in Ust-Kamenogorsk, he took second place. But that’s not the main point. What matters are the heights he is already clearing. He is only 18 years old and just celebrated his birthday in January. Interestingly, in Ust-Kamenogorsk he cleared 4.60 m and 4.80 m on his second attempts, and 5 meters on his first attempt. That meets the Master of Sport standard. Buda clearing 5 meters is not the first time. His current results are encouraging and give hope that he can develop into a strong pole vaulter.” “And which young female athlete do you have special hopes for?” “We have a very promising girl in the long jump – Maria Ovchinnikova from Karaganda. She took second place at the winter championship. Of course, the result – 5.92 m – is not the best, but she has just turned 18. From her progress and physique, it is clear that Maria has the potential to achieve great success in athletics.” Kazakhstan Athletics FederationPhoto: vksport.kz
Kazakhstan Winter Championship, 60 m (Women) – Sprinters’ Rapid Momentum

Kazakhstan Winter Championship. Lyubov Nikitenko: 7.34 – a very good start to the season One of the strongest hurdler athletes of the Soviet Union in the 1970s, now a recognized Kazakhstani sprint specialist, Lyubov Nikitenko, commented on the women’s 60-meter results at the national winter athletics championship in Ust-Kamenogorsk. The victory in the race was claimed by one of Lyubov Ivanovna’s students – three-time winner of the 2014 World Universiade, Viktoria Zyabkina from Almaty. Her result, 7.34, exceeds the standard for an international-class Master of Sport. Second place went to Rimma Kashafutdinova – 7.43 (in the preliminary heats, she ran 7.45). The gold and silver medalists noticeably outpaced the other competitors in the 60 meters. “Of course, I am pleased with Zyabkina’s result, because after the break we only resumed training very recently – on January 6,” explains Lyubov Nikitenko. “Last year, at the Asian Winter Championships, Viktoria Zyabkina ran 7.24, having specifically prepared for that competition. This year we have no major winter competitions, so we are not forcing preparation. Therefore, 7.34 is very good for the very beginning of our training.” — You are the head coach of the Kazakhstan national sprint team. Which competitions in 2017 do you consider a priority for women sprinters?— This year, the Summer World Championships will be held in London. The highest competition and the largest number of participants are in sprint events. Therefore, the goal for the World Championships is primarily to meet the qualifying standards. The Summer Asian Championships and the World Universiade are a different matter. There, the focus is on achieving the maximum result. (At the previous Universiade in Kazan, Viktoria Zyabkina won three gold medals – in the 100 m, 200 m, and the 4×100 m relay – author’s note). — Lyubov Ivanovna, you look great!— Thank you. The students don’t give me time to think about rest (laughs). Kazakhstan Athletics FederationPhoto: vksport

The VKO team took second place in this relay, even though the quartet of Anna Maydankina, Anastasia Zavodina, Alexandra Egorina, and Olga Pulyaeva was expected to win the gold, so desired on the first day of the competition, which did not bring us victories. With such athletes, the team could even have aimed for a new Kazakhstan record. Unfortunately, the hope for victory disappeared at the first stage with Anna Maydankina, who, unfortunately, could not show her full speed. Zavodina, taking over the baton, reduced the gap well, reviving the intrigue, but neither Alexandra Egorina nor Olga Pulyaeva managed a heroic performance. The competitors ran at comparable speeds and did not allow them to overtake. It was especially disappointing for Alexandra Egorina, who false-started in the 400 m race. We hope this remarkable athlete will get her “golden” revenge on fate for this cruel twist. However, this does not mean that the potential of this quartet is exhausted. There is also Diana Rogachyova, whose untapped potential can harmoniously replace any of the above girls if needed. Not every region has a team like this. Sergey Zaikov (Pavlodar region) – 1:53.58 2. Imanmadi KUSMANOV (East KAZAKHSTAN Region) – 1:53.93 3. Evgeny ARKHIPOV (East Kazakhstan Region) – 1:54.20 800 m running (5 participants): 1. Tatiana Neroznak (Kostanay region) – 2:08.29 2. Varvara Lisichkina (Karaganda region) – 2:10.20 3. Victoria Ryzhikova (SKO) – 2:10.73 Vladislav Leshin won the bronze medal in the 200 m. At the Kazakhstan Indoor Athletics Championships, a pupil of Ust-Kamenogorsk finished third, losing to two athletes from Karaganda and Pavlodar regions. And in the women’s competition, unfortunately, our athletes failed to take prizes. Running 200 m. Men (6 participants): 1. Vladislav Grigoriev (Karaganda region) – 21.78 2. Rakhat Magzamov (Pavlodar region) – 22.02 3. Vladislav LESHIN (East Kazakhstan Region) – 22.18 Women (6 participants): 1. Victoria Zyabkina (Almaty) – 23.77 2. Anastasia Shempel (Pavlodar region) – 24.69 3. Lyubov Ushakova (Karaganda region) – 25.42 The athletes of the East Kazakhstan Region also failed to take prizes in the 3000 m run among women. Zhanna Mamazhanova learned the basics of athletics at the East Kazakhstan athletics school, but later her life path distanced this excellent athlete from her native region. Now she stands for Almaty, but this does not prevent us from rejoicing in her success as our own. Running 3000 m: Women (7 participants): 1. Lyudmila Monina (Almaty region) – 10:03.98 2. Zhanna Mamazhanova (Almaty) – 10:06.74 3. Olga Bogomolskaya (Pavlodar region) – 10:09.15 Only three participants competed against each other during the pentathlon. Unfortunately, it did not work out to the last kind of struggle. The separation was quite obvious, so that after three types it was possible to guess with accuracy who would be the first, who would be the second, and who would be the third. Nadezhda Kirnos was more stable among the other participants, winning competitions in three out of five disciplines. Zamira Razhabova was able to beat the winner in the shot put and high jump. Diana Galandina took the third place. Pentathlon (3 participants): 1. Nadezhda Kirnos (Mangystau region) – 3663 2. Zamira Razhabova (Almaty) – 3319 3. Diana Galandina (Pavlodar region) – 2675 In the final discipline of the Kazakhstan Championship, the 4400 m relay, the girls had only two teams that decided to participate in the battle for gold medals. The team of the Karaganda region became the winner, running faster than competitors from the Pavlodar region by almost three seconds. The composition of the champions: Varvara Lisichkina, Lyubov Ushakova, Adelina Akhmetova, Ekaterina Paramonova. 4-400m relay (2 teams): 1. Karaganda region – 3:50.45 2. Pavlodar region – 3:53.34 The competitions among the strongest all-around athletes of the country turned out to be eventful. There was, of course, one superman who won by a wide margin. No one could compete with the Almaty resident Evgeny Marchenkov. The athlete from the southern capital showed the strongest results in the 60 m run, high jump, 60 m hurdles, pole vault and 1000 m run. That is, he was out of competition. But the struggle for the second and subsequent positions was serious. Alexander Kasyanov’s injury, which he received during the pole vault, greatly influenced the outcome of the battle. The tall Almaty man had to run 1000 m practically on one leg. Actually, he actually jumped part of the distance, and did not run. But for his patience and will to win, he received more than a medal – an ovation from the stands. Kasyanov’s injury opened the way to medals for other heptathletes, one of whom was Ustkamenogorets Magzhan Zhakypbekov. It was this athlete who took advantage of his chance better than others and gave even more than 100% for the sake of getting into second place. After the finish, he even felt extremely bad and could not take a picture with all the athletes who had made such a long way to medals. Zhakypbekov became the strongest heptathlete only in the water discipline – long jump. Heptathlon (5 participants): 1. Evgeny Marchenkov (Almaty) – 4779 2. Magzhan ZHAKYPBEKOV (East Kazakhstan region) – 4347 3. Farhad Kystaubayev (North Kazakhstan region) – 4218 …5. Timur ZHOLDOTAEV (East KAZAKHSTAN Region) – 3804 In one day, Imanmadi Kusmanov, a family member, won two silver medals at the Kazakhstan Athletics Championship. The East Kazakhstan Region national team in the 4-400m relay appeared almost as a team of one city – Semey. Ilya Musatov, Imanmadi Kusmanov and Evgeny Arkhipov represent this city, which is nominally considered the second in athletics in East Kazakhstan region, but if we count the number of medals won at this championship, then there will be almost complete equality between the two cities. The above-mentioned miracle heroes were accompanied by Vladislav Sutyagin from the Glubokovsky district. Despite the fact that the composition of the opponents was replete with bigger names, our team even managed to get ahead after the first stage of Vladislav Sutyagin. Alas, the young Arkhipov, who was more focused on running a distance twice as long, failed to maintain this leadership, but up to the last moment the intrigue in the question of the winner of the relay race remained alive. The East Kazakhstan Region national team is the second. But no one can be ashamed of this race. The first place was rightfully taken by athletes of the Pavlodar region, who managed to run according to the standard of candidates for the master of sports. Relay race 4 to 400 m. Men (4 teams): 1. Pavlodar region – 3:19.40 2. East Kazakhstan Region – 3:21.30 3. Karaganda region – 3:23.42 A source: vksport.kz
