The students of the coaching courses in Shymkent successfully passed the exams

Regular courses for domestic mentors organized by the Scientific and Technical Center of the Athletics Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the participation of specialists from the Republican Educational, Methodological and Analytical Center for Physical Culture and Sports have been completed in Shymkent. For 12 days, more than 50 trainers from eight regions of Kazakhstan conducted methodical work on acquiring new professional knowledge, and after successfully passing practical and theoretical exams, all of them received certificates of advanced training. In addition, 24 people from the total number of students completed in-depth training under the IAAF Kids Athletics program, becoming holders of the relevant certificates of the International Association of Athletics Federations. The general results of the courses were summed up by the head of the Scientific and Technical Center of the Republican Federation Alexander Kruglikov: – In general, everything went well, and, according to the participants themselves, the courses helped them a lot. In addition to a wide range of topics directly related to athletics, classes were held on anti-doping requirements in modern sports, sports psychology and some other topical issues. Many young trainers participated in the courses, and many of them noted that the seminars and trainings were interesting and useful. I would like to express my gratitude to the official IAAF lecturer from Estonia, Viktor Predbannikov, and all our specialists who acted as teachers. – What were the most remarkable moments in the current courses? – All participants probably remembered the visit to the orphanage in Sairam, the starts held there, as well as the Kids Athletics program competitions for students of the Shymkent Youth Sports School, held on the penultimate day of the course. The Kids Athletics program is successfully developing abroad, and after studying it in detail, our coaches working with children will now be able to apply their knowledge in daily activities. I would also like to note that during the courses, our students tried their hand at various athletics disciplines – discus throwing, pole vaulting, and made practical presentations themselves, which gave them the opportunity to expand their existing skills. – What are your future plans? – Specialized training courses for judges are to be held in Almaty from December 25 to December 29. Preparations for this event have already begun, and an international judge from Tajikistan, Vadim Nigmatov, who has experience working at major world competitions and is the manager of the European Athletics Association, will speak as one of the lecturers. We hope that these courses will also become a notable event in the athletics life of the country. In conclusion, we note that the coaching courses in Shymkent were held with the support of the NOC of the Republic of Kazakhstan and under the program of the IOC project “Olympic Solidarity”. Brilliant performances

From October 7 to 8, the Republic of Kyrgyzstan hosted the International Athletics Competitions among boys and girls born in 2002-2004 for the prizes of the Olympic champion-1988 in the 4-400m relay Maria Pinigina. Teams from five countries came to Bishkek to participate in these competitions: Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Kyrgyzstan. The most productive athletes from all over the republic went to represent the Kazakh team at these starts. On the first day of the competition, the 100 m, 100 m hurdles, 400 m, 1500 m, long jump, javelin throw and 4 100 m relay races for boys and girls were held. On this day, the guys from the East Kazakhstan region replenished the piggy bank of the national team of Kazakhstan with as many as 8 medals! In addition, they managed to set a new competition record twice! The 100 m run turned out to be very successful for our girls, because two athletes from East Kazakhstan Region Valeria Bromat from Ust-Kamenogorsk and Ridder runner Olga Pulyaeva took the podium at once, another one of our countrymen Sofia Bezverkhova, who took fourth place, was just a little short. Elizaveta Buluchevskaya, one of the most talented hurdlers in Kazakhstan, can also boast of another won medal. Lisa lost to Kazakhstan’s Sabira Musina from Aktau and Kyrgyz athlete Karina Danilina with a score of 16.2 seconds. I would like to note that Musin and Danilin divided the “golden” step of the pedestal in half. We cannot fail to mention two more outstanding performances among the girls. Arina Gladysheva finished second in the 1500 m with a time of 4:53.8, and Polina Pokladova won the bronze medal in the long jump. Well, the only guy who brought the first “gold” in a “solo” performance was Efim Tarasov from Ust-Talovka, who, despite the fact that he finished in the 400 m race with a decent margin of more than 2 seconds – 51.0 seconds, so his result also turned out to be a new competition record! But the “bronze” award in the same discipline was brought by Amir Aimkanov from Ust-Kamenogorsk – 54.6 s. Separately, I would like to evaluate the performance of the relay teams of 4 to 100 m – both women’s and men’s. Elina Ustinovich, Valeria Bromat, Elizaveta Buluchevskaya and Yana Zmanovskaya – this quartet brought Kazakhstan a second gold medal on the first day of the competition, but the highlight was that in this “fight” the girls repeated Tarasov’s triumph and set another new competition record. The youth team in this relay was represented by Damir Akimkanov, Zhandos Zhakypov, Andrey Ignatikov and Efim Tarasov, and they did it very well, placing second in the final protocol of the competition. The second day gave us equally successful performances. Some of them managed to win the second and even the third award for such a seemingly short period of time. This day can rightfully be called “silver”, because we managed to replenish the piggy bank of our country with five silver medals at once. The “bonus” was brought by Ustkamenogorsk athlete Elina Ustinovich, who became the owner of the “gold” in the high jump – 160 cm, followed by Polina Pokladova (155 cm). Among the guys, the high jump was successfully completed for our athlete, so Bota Kumarov became the vice-champion of the competition – 165 cm. The final 200 m races turned out to be more than colorful. Two pupils of Ustkamenogorsk sports school became the second at once. Amir Aimkanov, with a score of 23.5 seconds, lost only 0.2 seconds to an opponent from Uzbekistan, and Valeria Bromat finished after Kyrgyz runner Eva Kadyrova, with a score of 25.9 seconds. Elizaveta Buluchevskaya won her third medal at these starts in the 300 m hurdles. Lisa was in second place – 47.6 c in the final protocol, after Karina Danilina, an athlete from Bishkek. With such a “brilliant harvest” of awards, our guys have completed the competitions in Kyrgyzstan, and now they can be calm, because so far the season is considered closed for these athletes! Review of the last competitive day of the Kazakhstan Championship in Almaty

ALMOST A MARATHON FOR SPRINTERS The East Kazakhstan Region national team won a very serious victory in the 4-400m relay, winning bronze medals. Running 400 m is not called a marathon sprint for nothing, because it requires a combination of fast running with incredible endurance. Alexander Aksyutin and Vladimir Feshchenko are still associated with performing at much shorter distances, so it was hard to believe in their effectiveness in this relay. But courage and the ability to endure do their job, and Aksyutin and Feshchenko, as well as relay partners Vladislav Kabdualiev and Valery Pasha, managed to impose a very serious struggle on the Kostanay region team for the silver medal, losing only 0.1 seconds! Unfortunately, it was a long way to Karaganda residents. But our girls’ national team won the second relay race. Moreover, it is almost unchanged in composition. Compared to the 4 to 100 m relay, there was only one change in the line–up – instead of Daria Demchenko, Anna Maidankina took the start. And our girls ran so that it was very expensive to watch! The difference in results between the first place of the East Kazakhstan Region national team and the team of the Akmola region, which finished second, was simply incredible … 12 seconds! Thanks to this success, Ekaterina Efremova (pictured) became a four-time champion of Kazakhstan! Anastasia Zavodina is a three–time winner, Alexandra Egorina won her fourth medal at this championship, and Anna Maidankina finally tasted victory on the last day!   RELAY RACE 4 TO 400 M Boys (12 teams): 1. Double victory

On the eighteenth and nineteenth of September, the champion of the Olympic Games -2012 Olga Rypakova successfully performed twice at the Asian Games in Ashgabat. On the first day of competition, the best track and field athlete of Kazakhstan competed in the long jump. Together with Olga, eleven more competitors came out to perform, one of whom was Kazakhstani jumper Irina Ektova. In the first attempt, Rypakova jumped with a result of 6.34 m, leaving her rivals behind. The third (6.41 m) and fourth (6.43 m) attempts became “crowning” at all, because no one else managed to jump over our athlete. On the second day, the best jumper of Kazakhstan showed her skills in the triple jump. Long before the start, athletics fans were sure that Olga Rypakova would bring the gold medal from Turkmenistan, having performed in this discipline. Exactly the same number of athletes entered the arena as in the long jump, and for seven of them, the first attempt turned out, unfortunately, to no avail – the girls made a spade, among them were two athletes from Kazakhstan Olga Rypakova and Maria Ovchinnikova. The second jump ended similarly for the Ust-Kamenogorsk jumper, but in the third (13.96 m) and fourth (14.32 m) attempts, Rypakova secured the lead among her rivals. Not only did no one manage to jump further than our countryman, none of the participants could get closer to her result. Maria Ovchinnikova won silver in the triple jump – 13.21 m, and track and field athlete from China Tang Kizhao took third place. Inna Semenyak Photo : www.kazathletics.kz

Elina Mukhina won the Asian Games in Ashgabat

No matter how hard our countryman’s opponents tried to compete with her, nothing came of their efforts. Elina beat her closest competitor from Vietnam by more than a second, although she actually set a new personal record! In general, Elina had a margin of safety, speed too, and the Ridder runner transformed these two unbreakable trump cards into a gold medal at the Asian Games in Ashgabat. Asian Indoor Games Running 400 m. Women: 1. Elina MIKHINA (Kazakhstan, East Kazakhstan region) – 53.37 2. Tha Hang Nguyen (Vietnam) – 54.41 3. Olga Rypakova won the final of the Diamond League in Zurich

On the twenty-fourth of August, the final Diamond League competitions were held in Switzerland, in which Kazakh athlete Olga Rypakova became the best with a score of 14.55 m. Since the beginning of June, we have been following every “step” of the Diamond League 2017 with bated breath, and yesterday the final stage of one of the most elite athletics competitions took place at the Letzigrund stadium.  In addition to Rypakova, seven other athletes came to Zurich to compete in the women’s triple jump: 2017 world champion Yulimar Rojas, Colombian jumper Catherine Ibarguen, Kimberly Williams from Jamaica, Israeli athlete Hannah Knyazeva-Minenko, Patricia Mamona from Portugal, Polish athlete Anna Yagachik and Elena Panturoy from Romania. And as usual, the farthest jumps were shown by the star trio of Rypakov-Rojas-Ibarguen. In the first attempt, the main athlete of our country “flew away” by 14.38 m and took first place in the final protocol. In attempt number two, Katerina Ibarguen still managed to show a jump further – 14.47 m, and dislodge Olga, but, as it turned out, not for long. In the third attempt, Rypakova landed at the 14.55 m mark – and just this result allowed the Kazakh jumper to stay in first place and rightfully get the title of the best. In the fourth attempt to show a “similar” jump, Venezuelan Yulimar Rojas came out with 14.52 m, but Katerina Ibarguen failed to improve the result shown in the second attempt, and she took third place. Recall that Olga Rypakova managed to win the Diamond League for the second time, for the first time our athlete took the first place in this series of competitions in 2012. Inna Semenyak

Tatyana Samolenko: “When I came to your city for the first time, I remembered my youth”

From August 18 to 23, the Olga Rypakova Athletics Center hosted advanced training courses for coaches. The 1988 Olympic champion in the 3000 m Samoylenko Tatyana Vladimirovna, together with her husband, the USSR decathlon record holder Alexander Valentinovich Apaichev from Ukraine, came to Ust-Kamenogorsk to share their knowledge. Every day was special for the coaches. In the morning, they listened to lectures on various topics: barrier running, middle-distance running, horizontal jumping, as well as about the correct recovery process, the guests shared not only their knowledge, but also told stories from life. Alexander Apaichev has a huge coaching experience, for example, in 2001 he was invited to work with the Qatar athletics team. By the way, Alexander Valentinovich, he gave a lot of examples specifically related to these athletes, so there can be no doubt that it was incredibly interesting to attend the classes! In addition to theory, the coaches also watched videos, discussed topics with the teachers, and asked questions to which they received open and clear answers. In the evening program, practical classes were waiting for all participants of the courses, and the most interesting thing was happening here. Not only the coaches took part, but also the children, and this is a tremendous experience for them. They tried out all the exercises and performance techniques, listening to every word of the Ukrainian lecturers. Alexander Valentinovich and Tatyana Vladimirovna, not only explained, almost on their fingers, but they also showed clearly. On the last day of the course, the teaching staff was waiting for an exam on the lectures they had passed. And during our independent work, we managed to talk with Tatyana Samolenko, and learn a lot of interesting things about this famous runner. – Tatyana Vladimirovna, you recently had a birthday (August 12), and we would like to congratulate you on this wonderful holiday from our federation. I wish you good health, success, and thank you for taking the time to come to Kazakhstan in order to personally share your knowledge with our coaches! – Thank you very much! (smiles) – Tell us, how do you like our city? Is this your first time in Ust-Kamenogorsk? – Yes, in fact, this is my first time in Kazakhstan, especially in Ust-Kamenogorsk! During these days, we managed to make a sightseeing tour, of course, we saw little, but, nevertheless, we visited some places. Having our first degree in hydraulic engineering, we immediately went to the hydroelectric power station. It was very interesting to see and remember my knowledge (laughs). I really liked it. I remember our students came here, but at that time I was training and couldn’t come, I just had to listen to the stories of others. And now, I’ve seen everything with my own eyes and it’s like I’ve returned to my youth. Then we went to the embankment. I really liked it there, right now I often do Nordic walking, and I just fell in love with this embankment. It is very big, you can walk and walk along the river. This is very important for the health of the nation, I think it is very useful, because you can walk not only with Scandinavian walking, but you can also run and ride bicycles. After that, we went to Strelka. At first we were at a loss: “What is an arrow?” (laughs), and then it turned out that this is the place where two rivers will join. Very impressive! Also, we looked into the Orthodox church, and that was the end of our tour, because we had to prepare for the courses. We are pleased with what we saw: you have a very well-mannered people, a wonderful culture of behavior and communication, the streets of the city are clean. – You have visited a lot of places during your sports career, seen a lot of things, and now you have come to us. What are your impressions of our athletics arena? – I want to say that not every city has such arenas in order to practice in winter. The arena impressed not only us, but also those people to whom we sent information about you! They asked me to photograph every corner, every dot, how everything is located compactly. This is very convenient, because your winter is also long, so there are excellent conditions for classes here. Moreover, you have someone to take an example from, many of your Olympic champions, for example Olya Rypakova. I know that she is a very open person, she also shares her experience, communicates with coaches, this is very important! I noticed that you have a lot of children who are engaged even in the summer and want to do it, hence the result! – Tell me, how long have you been teaching courses, personally visiting the coaches? – We come to the courses when we are invited. If they want us to share our knowledge, not only theoretical, but also practical. It was very important for me to share it from a psychological point of view, since I performed in large arenas. I was most impressed that everyone wants to know more about tactics, this is important, because if an athlete is physically ready, then tactically he can still lose. There were a lot of questions from your coaches in the practical classes, and that’s great. We’re going to where they’re waiting for us! For example, Alexander Valentinovich traveled to Baku to give lectures on sprints and hurdles, and in Rio de Janeiro they asked to sort out topics on the all-around. In general, depending on which types you read, I’m mostly based on medium distances. – I know that you have your own methodical book, tell us about it? – (laughs) Having such a lot of experience and victories, I decided to share my experience and the secrets that every Olympic champion has. This book is a method of individual planning of highly qualified athletes in preparation. I took my Olympic cycle for four
