The Republic of Kazakhstan Athletics Championships among Youth Sports School teams born in 2009–2010 and 2011–2012 are continuing, and the second day of competition delighted the fans with victories by our athletes.
As a reminder, 18 regions of the country are taking part in the tournament: a total of 592 young athletes have started. In the U18 category, 232 participants are competing (125 boys and 107 girls), while the U16 category features 360 athletes (159 boys and 201 girls).
In the U18 category, Ramazan Bakytzhanov stood out by winning the men’s high jump with a result of 1.95 m. Yasmina Tussupova also delivered a strong performance, taking third place in the women’s 100 m hurdles with a result of 15.69. In the men’s 110 m hurdles, silver was won by Yerdaulet Murzamukhambetov (14.95). In the men’s 2000 m steeplechase, Zharas Kairatov took the bronze medal (6:29.61). One of the highlights of the day was Darya Potocheckaya’s performance, as she won the women’s 800 m with a result of 2:20.86. The East Kazakhstan Region women’s team also won bronze in the mixed 4×100 m relay.
In the U16 category, our athletes also achieved strong results. Nikita Lazutin took third place in the men’s 110 m hurdles (16.34). Mukhamed Goibov gave the fans a real celebration by winning the men’s 300 m with a result of 37.22 and helping the East Kazakhstan Region team win gold in the mixed 4×100 m relay. In the decathlon, Dmitry Zlobin won bronze with 3,252 points.
