Kazakhstani athlete Elizaveta Matveeva claimed a bronze medal at the Asian Athletics Jumping Championships taking place in Chongqing. The tournament has become the first continental jumping championship in the history of Asian athletics.
In the women’s high jump event, Matveeva cleared 1.80 m, earning a place on the podium and bringing Kazakhstan one of its first medals of the competition.
Another representative of Kazakhstan, Nadezhda Dubovitskaya, finished ninth with a result of 1.75 m.
