Kazakhstan’s Olga Rypakova won the bronze medal in the triple jump at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics, Vesti.kz reports.
Rypakova led after the first attempt, but later moved down to second, and then eventually to third place. In her best attempt, she recorded a mark of 14.74 meters. It is worth noting that at these Olympics, Rypakova achieved her personal season’s best.
Caterine Ibargüen from Colombia became the champion with a jump of 15.17 meters. The silver medal went to Yulimar Rojas from Venezuela with 14.98 meters. The new Olympic champion also recorded her season’s best result.
Notably, four years ago in London, Rypakova became the Olympic champion. The bronze in Rio marks the second Olympic medal of her career.
